Tricky world out there in audio land today, and paying more doesn't guarantee anything. Thankfully, I had a smaller room to fill and just wanted to upgrade to what works with some of the new stuff. I bought a cheap Denon AVR-S760H and a TCL 6 series 4K TV. The new Apple TV works great, no handshake issues with the or the Sony Ultra Blu Ray, and the receiver is adequate for the room. Even when the ATV switched the Denon to Dolby Atmos (I have a 3.1 system with older Polk towers and a center channel), it was actually thunderous. Makes me wince when I listen to regular TV broadcasts, they may upgrade their content in a decade or so. First receiver I've ever had that got all of the FM stations with the cheap wire antenna, even the powered Terks didn't work on my old Pioneer.
I read where Yamaha and others had a board fix that would be available to all affected customers, did this already happen, did it work?
