JBL Studio 570 first impressions

Ok, I received my JBL Studio 570 speakers on Friday, ordered on Tuesday night so pretty fast shipping.
They are quite small towers at just 34 inches tall. They pack a nice punch though, compression tweeter, dual 5.25 inch woofers. Very large waveguide. They are not nearly as ugly in person as they are in pictures or videos. They are actually cool looking in person.
I ran Audyssey yesterday through the multi EQ app and balanced everything out. The center that I'm veget I'm using is not matched to them, I'm using a RSL CG23 till Wednesday. I did not order the JBL Studio 520C yet, but did ordered the JBL Stage A125C yesterday. It has matching 5.25 woofers but of course not a compression tweeter. It was on sale and scratch and dent for 108 bucks, why not try it. If I don't like it I have 60 days to return it for 12 bucks return shipping.
If I end up sending it back I am then going to try the 520C but also will try the Emotiva C2+ which I read is a really good match.
What do you think of these the center channel choices?
As for the sound of the 570, well pretty great. I mean I need more time but the tweeter is very detailed. The compression tweeter is "airy" as they say. They give out good bass as well. They are not super efficient as I think most would assume, just 88 db sensitivity.

Congrats! I like my JBL Studio 520C I think the dialog is clear and I'm very critical of how I hear my sound.

Oh wow ok, that's encouraging. I just heard from other JBL owners that it doesn't match the rest of the series. I don't listen at extreme levels though either, the highest my HT really gets us -20.

Not yet, I still really don't know how to upload pics here.

Or how to remove your Tapatalk sig! :p

Are you using windows or android? I use a photo resizer for android and it works great. I've seen HD talk about right clicking with windows to resize.

Mostly from my phone yeah. I could try. Give me a sec to try here. I took a few pics the other day for a buddy.

Have no idea if this works.

Well enough! It took me to another tab but the image is good. You know, I've never thought those speakers were ugly. They'd look pretty cool in the batcave... lol.

Have you spent enough time with them to compare to your RSLs?

Oh cool it worked, I deleted because I thought it didn't work or took you to my personal info.
Yeah they are pretty cool looking, almost futuristic.
I love the RSL speakers as everyone knows but I think these are quite a bit better. They need a center channel to compliment them though. I'm actually thinking of really going nuts at some point and getting 530s for surrounds. We'll see though, matching surrounds is not that much a priority.

If they sell them in singles and you have the room you could get one for your center. I used an ultra book for a center channel for a long time and it worked fantastic. Just keep an eye out for the frequent sales they run on them and it won't cost you a ton of money either.

If using a phone I find it easier just to use Tapatalk, it can resize for you, at least haven't had any particular issues but not much of a photo guy..

If using a laptop with Windows if you right click on the file, click edit and it will take you to Paint (or just open the file in Paint) where there's a resize option. For most photos I use 30%.

Or you can link to a hosting service.

The 520C doesn't match in terms of larger drivers than the 4-inchers they have, but uses the same series of compression driver as the 5 series altogether. I did find it a bit lacking at higher volumes compared to the Infinity RC263 I got, even tho generally am not listening that loud these days.

Would be nice if that Tapatalk ad went away, tho.

They only sell them in pairs unfortunately. That would be too much waste for me.
They were just on sale for 250 for the pair! Now they are up to 350.
The 570s were 200 each, 400 for the pair. I mean how can you beat that, 1,200 bucks regularly and 400 right now.
I'm wondering if I should get a small stand, maybe 8-10 inches to lift these up just a bit.

I use my 580s as surrounds, and they needed to be raised up a bit, so built small wood risers for them, think they're just about 12"

The 590s I paid $900 for the pair delivered, the 580s $520 both via Amazon sales; bought my 530s/520C used from a forum member who got a killer deal from a retailer but didn't keep the speakers so think I paid 600 for the set including shipping....good stuff at these prices.

I would look at Crutchfield I know they sell some as singles but Iam not sure if the 530’s are sold that way . As far as stands go I would do it but I build stands for everything to get them up to ear level. They are very attractive looking .

I think the retailer that sold the 530/520s that I have was talked into some 530 singles back then....Nebraska Furniture Mart I believe it was but don't think they sell them any more....

Crutchfield like a lot of retailers doesn't sell the Studio series anymore. On fact they only seem to be sold at JBL.com except I see them on Amazon but they don't have sales like JBL themselves. They taste the 520C for 177 but I kind of want to buy it on sale from JBL.
I'm any even the A125C will be here by Wednesday. Let's see how they match up before trying the 520C.

FWIW when I got my JBLs via Amazon, the "store" was some retailer in Arizona....imagine such was authorized by JBL, tho....

I also see Crutchfield has raised the price on the HDI series too but I didn’t look to see on the 530’s .
