Hard to complain if you don't participate....just because your favorite isn't winning is just bullshit.
Now if my tone is short I apologize greatly. I had one of my military patients have a massive fing seizure and we had no staff and I had to ride out with him to the hospital

Then we had no staff to relieve me. Because guess what. No one wants to fing work will they passing out unemployment like its cotton fing candy.

So I was forced to stay past my shift and was unable to get home and get some stuff completed for my mother's surgery to reverse her diverticulitis operation

So I'm really not in the best of moods right now and for that I do apologize

That really is not directly related to voting. I understand you're on the front line of crazy/disability but can only thank you for your efforts. We create too many situations like this too.

no anger here ,just economic frustration..*i* agree with you..trump is gone, he won't win again in a general.. but , his message is still the first line of many of the gop in congress,, so his will and thoughts are still felt... the big thing , as i pointed out is the entire gop platform has come down to 2 things..1) tax cuts for the wealthy and 2) figuring out ways to get re elected by changing(rigging) the system.. neither is viable long term in that tax cuts run up the deficit with no economic stimulus in comparison to bottom up stimulus.. the recent "covid" checks *are* the first time in our history that it's been tried, and it overwhelmingly succeeded , two business owners i know quite well had their best years ever in 2020 based on usable income from people who normally don't have it... as a matter of fact it worked so well the gop went into a panic .. the last thing the gop wants is low wage workers with money .. that hurts their "slave labor " economic model ... and it proves socialist ideas on helping the poor are actually superior to the current model.. but as you say time will tell as to what will be allowed.. as far as voting reform.. good luck to the gop on that , nobody opposes the thought of clean elections , but what are all the changes based on .. fraud that didn't happen.. voter id would be ok.. IF.. it was FREE of cost to the voter and universally distributed to every voter upon registration, so as not to be a form of "poll tax" that are a hardship on low income voters.. but that's a non starter to the gop .. they invent ideas on how that system could be gamed ..EDIT: here's my overwhelming take on the free market system..IT"S EATING ITSELF from the inside out.. the system has become so top heavy that it can't support itself anymore ...i can't believe that gop low income voters don't see how the game is rigged.. corporate interests have successfully added millions of workers to the workforce by simply keeping wages so low that a one income family can't exist anymore.. more workers = more production which =more profits which =greater bonuses and ability to buy back stock rather than reinvest in the form of higher wages .. it's a legalized criminal enterprise brought to you by corporate interests and legitimized by our dear leaders in congress via "deregulation"... fun stuff for people lucky enough to pick the proper vagina to be spit out of.. not so fun for the rest of us... :)
I’m not sure if you are aware of this, but the Democrats control the House and the Senate and the President is also a Democrat

Only to a limited degree depending on what needs to be passed beyond party lines. Just too bad we're stuck with these two lame f*cking parties....

I somewhat understand your point, but even voting for write-ins is better in a "democracy" than doing jackshit, eh?
Not if your write ins are poop. Favorites? I'd settle for a candidate that was just okay right now. I've long given up on favorites a long time ago

It's been a long day and I'm exhausted and I've already expressed politely how I feel about this dude. And people keep dragging me back into the comments about who? Fing Trump.

For reals if people don't have anything else political to talk to me about then Trumps dumb ass I'm going to politely ask people to stop bringing me back into this thread. I'm tired of talking about that fing dude. Told everyone how I feel. How many fing times do I have to say the same fing thing over and over man.

I'm exhausted I'm going to bed. I love all your dumb assets right now liberal conservative independent I dont care I love all you motherf@#ers

Peace and good night

I will never be convinced no voting is better than voting.....at least if you want to make noises about democracy, even if a modified version like we use....YMMV. I still love ya!

Then there is the filibuster in the Senate which is sorely in need of reformation. Another thing to reform is the huge number of political appointments that has to be approved by the Senate, something that hamstrings any new administration as well as sucking up valuable legalisation time.

Exactly.. His post insinuates conditions that don't exist.. Like solidarity between progressive leaders and right wing dems like Synema and Manchin...typical lazy post.. Rhetoric based to get affirmation from like minded folks..

That's the best way, tho for propaganda, describe a situation that doesn't actually exist to start...easy to deviate from such an assumption in various directions.

Okay, if you were in charge of everything, what laws would you pass? Assume for purposes of discussion that you had full power to change the Constitution in any way you want.

I don't want to change the constitution.. I want the billionaire class of overlords nuts cut... No more private money In politics or tax cut economic fixes for said billionaires....as well as no more bail outs based on need for the industry.. Do you think people would quit flying if the airlines went bankrupt? Nope.. And they'd keep flying people during reorganization , so what's the point of the bail outs other than to protect the overlords??? Answer me that one sport.. You still haven't defined your right wing pandering post.. Exactly what was your point???.. If you don't feel like expounding then why say it to begin with... TROLL FOR EFFECT??...

I think we agree on not changing the Constitution.

I think we basically agree on bailouts.

My point was that the Republicans are not in control of the Senate Democrats who are refusing to go along with the rest of the Democratic party. If the Democrats were unified they could simply abolish the filibuster. I think you'd agree that this is factually correct?

You are of course free to be annoyed by my posts.

more amused than annoyed... abolishing the filibuster is a 2 edged sword wouldn't you say? i wouldn't want to be the guy that did that and then have to watch the eternally corrupt gop make full use of it when the world goes to shiit again and puts them loser republicans back in power .. the gop has demonstrated that "playing fair" is obsolete, the way they handled the last 3 SC nominations proves that...btw if we agree on so much how is it that the gop is constantly calling the progressives "crazy " or much worse.. i do represent their platform in ideology .. feel free to dodge the question...edit: i hope you are starting to realize that progressives are the constitutional defenders and the gop is trying to overthrow democracy.. but i have my doubts ...edit#2.. as far as being "unified:" that gets you to the point you need to suck a guy like trumps lord helmet or be cast out .. dems have different views on things , and they don't need to fear getting primaried if the don't "fall into place".. have you figured out how much i respect the gop yet????.. they are a dying party ...

Her appearance reminds me of someone, but I can't figure out who it is . At first I thought it was Tim Allen, but that's not it.

I have not followed this entire thread, but I think you are proposing that in a hypothetical future universe:

1) A 78 year old lard *ss lying loser orange feminine hygiene product who lost the last presidential election and also caused his own party to lose both the House and Senate during his first term for the first time almost 100 years (hereinafter "Lard *ss") will be nominated by his losing party (any resemblance of Lard *ss to any real person is purely coincidental of course).

2) A first group of hypothetical future people ("FGHFP") who have never voted for Lard *ss and also do not vote for Lard *ss in this hypothetical future universe will nevertheless not shout from the mountain tops that Lard *ss is in fact a lard *ss lying loser orange feminine hygiene product.

3) There is also a first group of hypothetical future loser voters ("1st losers") who are so incredibly f'n dumb that they are unable to determine on their own that Lard *ss is in fact a lard *ss lying loser orange feminine hygiene product, but the 1st losers could nevertheless be persuaded not to vote for lard *ss if the FGHFP were to shout from the mountaintops that the Lard *ss is in fact a lard *ss lying loser orange feminine hygiene product, but the 1st losers will instead vote for Lard *ss because the FGHFP didn't shout from the mountaintops.

4) In the hypothetical future election, the 1st losers and the die hard Lard *ss lovers ("2nd losers")(collectively "total losers") all vote for Lard *ss and Lard *ss wins the hypothetical future election.

5) In the hypothetical future election there are enough 1st losers to result in Lard *ss winning the hypothetical future election but for the failure of the FGHFP to shout from the mountaintops that Lard *ss is in fact a lard *ss lying loser orange feminine hygiene product..

It appears to me that you are saying that in this hypothetical future universe the total losers who actually voted for Lard *ss are not to blame for electing Lard *ss, but rather it is the FGHFP who didn't vote for Lard *ss who bear responsibility for Lard *ss winning this hypothetical future election.

Unless I'm missing something, I do not find this to be especially persuasive.

I prefer Clark's alternative hypothetical future universe:

Lard *ss drops dead before the next election, and everyone lives happily ever after.
I'm a Republican, and I will continue to be a Republican. But we really screwed up with Trump. I'm embarrassed for my party, and my country. I apologize for the people in my party who either can't or won't for this embarrassing period in our history.

Or just read Danzilla's thoughts. He's said more in a few posts than pretty much all of the Republicans here combined.

Not....

I verbally condemned Trump. I just can't find the post.

And the silence in general because it's your own.

The last one: Trump should die. Then everything will be much better.

But option 2: legal system investigating his crimes and hopefully along the way neutering his ability in 2024.

I don't really think Republican voters will vote for him again, but his base will. Alas options 1 and 2 just in case.

The GOP nominated him- why? Why couldn't they find a better candidate?

The second question can be answered with "Because better candidates don't want that job".

I would suggest that the GOP could have found a better candidate - they just didn't want one. Trump was a reflection of problems within the conservative spectrum, rather than the problem himself.
