Bought is really the wrong word in this case. I did pay for materials and labor, however. My son built me a record rack that holds them similar to those in a record store, so you can browse by looking at the album cover rather than trying to turn your head sideways to look at the edge...which can sometimes be worn.
In it right now is about 170-180 LP's, based upon having bought 150 inner and outer plastic sleeves and only 4 left. Plus I already had at least 30 that came to me in plastic sleeves. There's about 3" of space in from of the albums on the top two sections, about 6" remaining on the bottom left, bottom right almost empty. I think I'll be able to get close to 300 in it and still have enough space to flip them forward in browsing. I never want it full and tight.
The photos are very temporary, as the office is getting cleared out tomorrow and painted a more pleasing color. I'll also add an area rug and some acoustic panels. Not seen is a comfortable recliner that will be right in the sweet spot, though sitting at the desk the LS50's work really good as near-field monitors. My office is becoming quite a good music listening room. I am so proud of my son and the work he did!
Edit: A couple days of clearing everything out, a day & half of prep, another day of painting and reassembling (in a better, neater way) and discarding even more junk...and we have Benjamin Moore's "Grape Ice" instead of yellow. Both me and my wife really like my choice...you're allowed not to like it.
