There is no chance that trump will be anything more than a singe term president. There is a big question mark about him even completing a single term.
So, if Trump is impeached and turfed from office, would America (and the rest of the world) be better off with Pence in the White House? We don't hear much about him up here, beyond the fact that he's very conservative...and is afraid to be alone with any woman who isn't Mrs. Pence. He seems to be a non-entity.

As much as I don't like that option, I absolutely HATE the possibility of Pelosi getting to that position.

The challenge is that the Democrats haven't rallied around even one viable candidate who could unite the party. And your hope of Trump getting impeached is, IMO, a pipe dream.

If anything is going to defeat Trump it mightl be the economy in 2020. If he really screws up the trade war with China, and he has proven to be so inept at the negotiations, that could trigger real economic problems. Even his Southern religious conservative base tends to vote with their wallets. Perhaps a Democratic dark horse will emerge who can defeat Trump. If Trump gets to appoint another Supreme Court judge before 2020, his base, which tends to be fixated on judges, may just declare victory and abandon him. (At least I can hope...)

Personally, I'm sick of seeing that one candidate or another needs to be defeated, rather than finding one who will do what's best for the country. Neither side is good at that and it looks like they don't want to try.

A lot of people voted for Trump thinking that he was someone who would do what’s best for the country. And normally I’d agree with your sentiment, but in The Donald’s case I believe he’s so dangerous that getting him out of office is a valid objective.

If he gets impeached there may be a cloud of "deep state lynch squad" conspiracy theories among his base.

However, I think it is a mistake to say anything about the likelihood of impeachment until the results of the investigation have been completed. Generally, it seems the Dems currently have no expectation/desire to impeach, but depending on the revelations of the investigation, their hand may be more or less forced. Or we may come to realize Trump really is under the control (blackmail) of the Kremlin. If so, he would unquestionably be impeached. Certainly, his pull-out from Syria against Mattis's advice is alarming and begs the question of why he would do it. When Putin said Trump made the right decision, it may have been a reference to Trump yielding to Putin's objective.
I hope Trump is not so compromised to the Russians as that, but if Putin had it as an objective to get some compromising videos of Trump when he was in Russia, I don't see it as a difficult task - just make some attractive prostitutes available and have hidden cameras in his room!

Choosing the lesser of 2 evils every 4 years isn't helping this country much.

She wasn't the lesser of two evils, she was the only adult running but this country decided to elect a baby with the temperament of an infant. I shouldn't say that because she got 3 million more votes. It's the rural 2 people for every mile that is terrified of the myth someone is going to take there guns away that elected a buffoon with orange complexion.

It always has been and always will be the lesser of the evils. (Sometimes there are three choices rather than two.) I remember Hillary thinking a 55 mph national speed limit was good for the country, as an example of her elitist dumb-ass thinking. There isn't ever a perfect candidate. If the choice in 2020 is Bernie or Donald, I'd have to think about that for a long while, but I'd probably pick Trump, as dangerous as I think he is and nauseous as the thought makes me. Socialism is incredibly difficult to undo once you implement it. We still have Social Security after 83 years. (FWIW, Hillary wanted to redistribute wealth too. So does Warren.)

No one is implementing socialism. This country will always be a capitalist county, nothing is going to change that.
And I have news for everyone we have always been a quasi socialist county and I'll tell you how. We all pitch in through taxes to pay for things, military, police, fire, and many, many other things. No one is actually looking to change the county off of a capitalist system to socialism.
Now we have Trump who is beyond dangerous and trying to destroy every institution that keeps the county together and every alliance and the allies we have but people still say, oh yeah I'd still vote for him even though he is dangerous. I must be living in the twilight zone.

I could never vote for sanders, but atleast he is honest about being a socialist. I do think most people opining for socialism or candidates with socialist views have no clue what its like to live in a country like Venezuela
or even cuba to an extent. There is a reason people risk their lives to come to the U.S.
So when I see people bash dt, I gotta role my eyes, because hillary was the worst of 2 evils and it wasnt even close... Don't get me wrong, I don't agree with everything he has done, but this country dodged a bullet in 2016

The country dodged a bullet only to get struck by an artillery shell.

Oh really? Have you read Bernie's taxation platform or perhaps that of Elizabeth Warren? Or perhaps have you read their views on corporate responsibilities to societies and communities? The socialism in their views is not subtle, it falls right into the classic definition of socialism that economic returns go mostly to society as as a whole.

Ok, you show me enough politicians that actually believe to make that a reality. The country will never be anything other than a capitalist system.
I believe in corporations paying their fare share but with that tax bill from last year we are never getting anything close to that.

Exactly my thoughts. I mean how dare people believe in that. Did they see the orange fat man go after company after company for personal reasons? Harley Davidson, Amazon, and many others. He is a joke.
