I thought that 5.1 was all I wanted and if I wanted Atmos later, I would install the speakers myself.

My two cents, over the last three years I have fallen victim to the bigger subwoofer arms race.
Well as said above, it’s about the overall subwoofer system as much as the driver size. Iirc you have 120sw’s. They are only rated down to 29hz. While they may shake the house, you’re missing a lot of much deeper content. For example, the pb1000 pro is also a 12” sub, but goes much deeper than the Klipsch do. They may be more linear and controlled as well. Also keep in mind that deep bass has to be present in the content. Some have a lot, and some don’t. Some movies roll off at 25hz, and some go down to 10hz. Or even deeper!
Really it depends on the sub. Some 12s can outperform some 15s. As a general rule tho, like the gearheads say, there's no replacement for displacement!
Oh boy, yeah. I had 12" Klipsch subs and there's no comparison with my current 15" HSUs. It made a world of difference.

Oh I dunno, I can hear a 25 hz tone. It does start getting into the realm of feeling it more than hearing it, but I can definitely hear down to 25 hz. 20 hz is difficult for me, but the tactile sensation is for sure there and adds to the experience.Well, most adults can't even hear much below 30Hz, especially below 25Hz.
We can feel the vibrations from the sound waves below 20Hz.
But vibrations from sound waves at 30-60Hz have a lot more ENERGY/FORCE than sound waves at 10-20Hz.

I hear that! I have three 12’s with extension to about 15-15hz. My airspace is very large like yours and I do pucker up once in awhile. I agree with no replacement for displacement and moving air in those low frequencies is much more efficient with bigger drivers. Simple. I will add to this in the transducer thread. Lol

Do you think the "tactile sensation" or vibration from the frequencies below 20Hz is more powerful (more energy, more force in shaking your body and walls) than from frequencies above 40Hz?
