I run mine hot too.

View attachment 54437

According to that chart, by about 5 or 6 dB! Looks like we like the same bass boost!

*Edit: to @AcuDefTechGuy's point, most of my boost is in the 25 to 30 hz range!
I use the memory setting on my AVR to control the "hotness" of my sub. For movies, their dialed in loud. For music, I have them turned down so they just add weight to the bottom end. Either way, I use the Harmon house curver.....up 10 db at 20-30Hz and then by the time I reach 80Hz, its dropped by 10db.

I know.
And I'm not hating on the Yammy.
I STILL want them to get their sh!t working and move on!
Hey, I saw @Pogre posted some photos with the grills off on his tower's and center speaker. That center in his setup is huge! Would like to see a photo of your Sax though.:) I agree, Yamaha needs to finish up with the 2.1 update been long enough.

So now that you all have had your Yamaha Aventage RX-A8A or A6A for a while, what do you seriously think of it? Forget about the 2.1 update for now and base your experience on the overall performance and sound of the Musicality and Movie viewing performance etc.
I am more than impressed by how it sound. I already told my personal story about audiophilia but here it is again : when I was seventeen, my girlfriend step father was the owner of a high end audio shop (stereo was the only thing existing at that time). One day she proposed me to have a private listening session. It has been a revelation. Since then I was looking for having the money to get a system that brings me back to these years. I had a Denon AVC-A1D for almost twenty years, was ok but not really close from what I remembered. The day I got my RX-A8A was the Ratatouille scene where Ego got childhood flashback : this time I was there, I finally managed to get the sound I was dreaming for with an integrated audio amplifier.

So this is my noob point of view of course, I didn't owned a thousand different amps, and I can't hear the distortion under 0.1677869879% which means I am almost deaf. But when it's about how it sounds, I can tell you I am not disappointed.

At some point I will return mine after using it for one year as it doesn't match the product description.
Having to wait half a year to get a "main" feature of this product is unacceptable.

Edit : I sent an email about how to send my amp back. I assume I will have to go back to Denon.

If I was a gamer, say with a PS5 or XBox I wouldn't be happy. Can you return your A8A?

If you do get a Denon, get the 8500H!!

Or maybe this one, sure it doesn't have some creature features.

I am waiting to be able to play for months now... and it was announced as "working in beta right now" and to be available "soon after launch". I will call my local shop to hear about how to return it and what they can offer as a product replacement.

That Denon X8500HA has only One 2.1 input. Accessories4 less, has refurbished X8500HA for $3.999.00 with 3 years warranty.

I had preferred the Yamaha A8A above the Denon 8500HA as I had previously described. However, I think that it is overpriced and would have considered it if not for that fact.

Hey, have any of you guys noticed with your on screen display up. This cool lil umm display that'll pop up when you go into Options, and set On-screen Information to on. The display of A.I. will pop up showing what it's doing on the fly. I just discovered this pretty cool. I'm sure you guy's that have the A6A and A8A will show this. Those of you who know me mine is the A4A. Just thought I'd mention this.
