Still wouldn't matter much, still be out of range quickly and only recover if you go to a bigger metro area, which isn't always a destination. If you drive into forested areas, that will also kill the signal quickly- trees contain water and that's dense enough to block RF easily. Add deep undulations in the terrain and the signal strength drops to zero.
