Why I am not getting the full UtraHD audio from AmazonMusic

My setup as follows Sony A90J 65 inch receiver is Marantz SR6015 using eArc [HDMI] I am streaming from Google App/Sony the Amazon Music App & I am getting this
The track quality : 24-bit/192KHZ
Device Capability : 16-bit/48KHZ
Currently Playing at : 16-bit/48 KHZ
Codec: FLAC
Why I am not getting the full 24-bit/192 KHZ . Is there a setting on the Marantz that needs to change or I am at my limit in my devices ?..

I had to go into my sound settings on my pc and click 24/192 in a drop down box.

On Windows 10 for pc I right click on the speaker/volume icon in the bottom right corner.

Click "open sound settings"

Click "sound control panel" on the right

Click on your receiver in the window that pops up

Click "properties"

Click "advanced" in the next window that pops up

You will see a drop down where you can pick higher resolutions.

Sometimes that setting randomly reverts back to default and I have to go in and change it again.

*Edit: don't forget to click "apply" where you see it before closing the windows out.

Well then I am usless, lol.

Now that I think about it, I also have a firetv (android) and it won't play the higher resolutions either. I can only get it with my pc.

In order to take advantage of Amazon Ultra HD hi-res quality (lossless 24-bit/192kHz resolution), your device must support it which your 6015 does. Maybe its just a option not set correctly either in Amazon or your AVR,. Just a thought,

If it's any consolation, I couldn't hear any difference between 16/48 and 24/192 on Amazon. I can hear the difference between Amazon HD and regular Amazon tho. There is an improvement. Almost as good as my cd rips. Almost. It's close but cd (and lossless cd rips) still sound just slightly better.

The Marantz does, but your streaming device might not, or there may be a setting you have to change on it. I know my firetv is what it is, and that's 16/48 at best.

I didn't have to change anything in my receiver (Marantz SR6011). Just the settings on my pc. The Marantz seemed to automatically decode it.

When choosing a service, one needs to check for devices that support everything that service has to offer or deal with limitations from devices not in the service eco system. Even then, issues arise. TV's aren't the best place to look for apps that support services to their full potential. You may get two good apps to go with the rest of the crappy ones. Say, doesn't Marantz' HEOS app support 24/192 from Amazon Music Ultra HD? Try using it instead of the TV app.

I get Amazon music HD up to 192 from my Fire Cube and Denon X3400HD. It does sound great and the HD part is free now.

Wait, what? Free now? I haven't checked Amazon HD in a while, since I had a free trial and stopped when it ran out. I may have to revisit. Amazon's HD is actually pretty good. Not quite cd quality, but pretty damned close. Close enough it could have been a difference in gain that I heard.

It's free if you sub to music unlimited. Yup, very cool. I was paying for it and then I got an email is free going forward.

I don't understand what you're getting at. The Marantz can play 24/192, but if your streamer can't then it's simply not an option.
