Oh - and I checked out the Cadence x-sub. It looks WAY too good to be true, so I ordered one to compare to the SVS PB10-ISD we have here now.
Craigsub,

You'll find the PB10-ISD to be HUGE compared to the tiny Cadence. Mac and I compared them, but not side by side. The 10 goes much lower, but doesn't hit like the XSUB. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by the Cadence. If you're brave, unscrew the amp off the XSUB, and then take the amp off the PB10. Compare the two. Your jaw will drop. Those two subs running together may make a perfect HT/musical combination. Now to find the room for two subs.

Make sure to break in your Cadence. It's EXTREMELY stiff out of the box. Mine didn't produce the "boom" for a week. I didn't believe in "break in" time b/c of the myths on this site, bit then took Velodyne's word for it (check the manual on all their subs). After the break in, the sub really sounded much more like a HT sub, but still only goes down to around 28Hz.

BTW,
What is a Craigsub? Craig made car audio equipment years ago. Any parallel there?

And if it sounds too good to be true....I look forward to reading your mini sub review and how you think the Cadence sounds...

Buckeye - By this weekend, we will have a pair of SVS PB12-Ultras, a Velodyne DD-18, The PB10-ISD, an Axiom EP-600 and (for our bedroom system), a Rocket SW-10SE.

The Cadence will get a lot of chances to prove itself in some pretty serious systems.. It would be cool to have an easy sub for recommendation that guy who wants to spend $300 or less delivered. :)

Man, it must be nice. ;)

I plan on doing something similar with the new Corvette Z06, the new Viper GTS, and 911 Turbo. JK! :p

Well ... Assuming you are married, tell your wife you ordered all three cars. After she faints at the $250K you just spent, grabbing a few subwoofers will be a snap ... :D

I forgot when you asked earlier - Craig is just my name and I happen to like subwoofers, so the first forum I signed onto, I used "Craigsub". I wish it was something clever, but that's it. :p

Oh, and I like your taste in cars as well as subs. Although I'd get the Viper in original roadster trim.

Craigsub, any truth to the rumor that you have a GT40 on order? ;)

Actually, I was going to get a Viper, but opted for a Vette instead. The Ford GT is absolutely impossible to get.

Craig,

You've not mentioned the new JL Audio home subs, nor the ML Descent. I'm also curious of your opinion on the Def Tech Super Cubes and older Paradigm Servo sealed high power boxes. Have you demo'd those yet?

Even for a Ford dealer?
Yes - especially for a dealer. Sounds strange, but it is true. Besides, for the same $$$, I got my Vette and an SL-500 for my wife.

Buckeye - I have demoed both Paradigms, the Servo is great, the smaller cubes are nice for the size. The Descent is a wonderful subwoofer.

No experience with the JL subs. I know, a car guy with "sub" in his name having no experience with JL. GO figure ...

Friendly? I'm very friendly; sorry but I'm not PC. I can’t wait to hear your opinion on the Cadence VS those others, as long as it’s objective. The Cadence doesn’t go as low, but it hits hard and clean. It’s a good HT sub, and a great music sub.

Actually, All my reviews are terribly biased and subjective affairs, usually with bribes being paid by anyone who wants favorable treatment ... :p :D :)

And since it is clear you are not sending a drink, I guess it is time to make one myself ... ;)

I'd really like to see someone review the JL subs, though I don't think they're available yet. So sexy though....

Yep, acoustic suspension with monsterous power reserves. The Gotham (the 2-driver model) costs like $7k though. Still, when you notice it has a 3000W amp, auto room EQ, super dense structure, and a super spiffy appearance, I think it might be worth it. Mac, isn't there a way you could pick one up for "Research Purposes"?

why would they clog up that picture with people, they could have got 3 more angles of the subwoofers.

I'll talk to one of my buyers. Maybe I can buy it under "atmospheric disruptor". They sure look like they could do it. Ladies and germs, this is what a real sub looks like. I can’t wait to hear one.
