Looking back at your pic of the sub controls, the sub amp's gain control is labeled "level". My question is is it possible that the level on the sub changed between the different YPAO runs?
I just ran another YPAO.
Crossover to max
Level to 0db or THX
Phase to 0

Crossover switch to off
EQ to extended

The results look fine to me. Altho I'd use a carpeted floor, pull the L/R out into the room more and bring that center to the front edge of the cabinet it sits on (but that's me :) )....is that tripod bringing mic to ear-height?

Wow, it’s like you’re in my brain! Lol
I was thinking those things too. But...I was wondering what kind of response he gets with the subs pointed right at each other?

Never ended up with something like that myself. Might want to run that thru the REW room simulator...do we have room dims?

Tripod was on ear level. I dont understand why the db for the subs are different and in the minus. Should i put them to the positive.

No. Leave them negative. It’s probably just a difference in each amps gain structure. Meaning, even if the knob is in the exact same place on each sub, they could have different output.

It really doesn't matter if the numbers are slightly different, they're in different locations, too. If you're getting wow on BR2049 that's good (be sure it's the bluray full soundtrack rather than just the Dolby Digital soundtrack IMO).

I don't know if you can really know. Netflix doesn't stream the full lossless soundtrack, they don't offer that sort of bandwidth; they use DD+ (maybe with Atmos metadata of some sort) but hard to know what the provenance is. A friend of mine had a torrented 1080p rip of 2049 with the AC3 soundtrack (the base Dolby Digital, but again no real provenance on how that was obtained) and while good I was astounded at the difference with the bluray with the actual Dolby Atmos/True HD soundtrack (I don't have Atmos so I get the DolbyTrueHD core only, but didn't really expect that much of a difference among any of them). I'd test on Netflix now but it's not a current offering (I first rented the bluray from Netflix then bought the bluray later). I've seen others comment on the difference as well, tho. It could have been a level thing but still when I compared the rip/AC3 to my bluray, it just seemed like a different mix. YMMV....

So if i really wsnt to fine tune my HT, the wsy to go is with a SPL? So now the BIG question is what SPL do i need and what quslity. Also is the learning curve how to use a SPL very hard?. And what are the limitd of a SPL?

SPL stands for sound pressure level usually....not sure what you mean by spl....

Totally agree. The BD has always proven superior in my viewings. Trying out Age if ultron in VUDU right now. It’s DD+ but so far is decent. They do offer Atmos on many titles but on this one it’s only if you buy. Whatever..., I think that’s dumb, but it’s probably only for awhile. Then it will be available on rentals.

I think he’s asking about an SPL meter. I was saying earlier he should have one to check levels. Sub level mostly.
