New? Well, new to me I guess. I always had the hots for some of the old silver faced stuff. I sold stereo equipment until about 1980, and the Sansui G series were always one of the "Wow" ones, looks wise. I got this recently, with a year warranty from one of those places that restores old equipment, a G5700, a transition unit that has both an analog tuning scale and digital readout:

I bought a bluetooth adaptor so I can play music from my phone through it and a amp/speaker switch so I can run my main speakers and another set with it and my AVR. Only thing I won't have is a volume control at the receiver, but the phone will work well enough. I threw my back out trying to pick it up, so I need to get someone younger than me to plop it onto the shelf.

That's a lovely vintage amp! I was going to suggest a BT adapter that has a remote and volume control. I'm sure there must be one out there, but you already have a BT adapter.

Switching to a new Aeron Chair. Been looking at less expensive options for a while now but nothing satisfied me.

Drove 40 minutes to a showroom today to try it out. It will be much more supportive than any other recliner, executive chair or gaming chair I found. 12 year warranty, too.

I did some research after promising my son a new chair for graduation. Settled on the Icon Q2 as a good mid-price chair. You can spend well over $1k for a good office chair but the Q2 comes in at around $500 here and it's a nice mesh-back chair.

I really didn't want to spend so much. I'm not a furniture guy, at all. After sitting in it for around 15 minutes and learning the controls, I understood why they have been so popular for so long.

Also, working against me is my size. Too many office chairs don't support folk with a large frame. I'm 6'3", and on a good year around 230#. I'm coming off a bad year and paying for it. *facepalm

Options for us big folk are limited, and when it comes to ergonomics, I've found you really have to match your size to get the benefit.

Hey I'm around the same size.

You mind sharing which one you got? Unless it's this one.

If it is I may do an Only Fans thing to pay for it. :D

Yup. That’s the one. Size C… especially if you are taller.

that sale might end today. Uncertain, though. 20% off is a good incentive. ;)

Went to Book Off to sell some items and picked up these. After selling the items my net cost for the movie & Funko was $2.38 for both.

Sony UBPX700 Blu-ray player to replace my old Sony DVD player. Thanks to Jim for finding this for me on an auction site. Excellent condition with a minor scuff on the top but the face is perfect and included a working remote.

I only have standard Blu-rays but the picture on my S95B is gorgeous. Looking forward to finding some 4k discs.

Our accountant is about your size and he had to get a large office chair. Only problem is that it's bonded leather. I will never buy anything with bonded leather. It only lasts a few years and then the leather starts to flake off and the chair then looks like crap. Bonded leather should be banned for environmental reasons... it's garbage in the making.

You gotta get bonus points for still rocking the VCR. Is it actually connected?

Glad to be of assistance. This Sony also plays normal Blu-rays very well.

I "retired" my previous 4K Samsung when I got the Sony UBPX700. I'm probably going to move it to the Cabin when we replace the aging 1080p Toshiba up there.

I have one of those too. Been a really good player. I’ve seen reports of random freezing. I have to admit that while had done it, it was only three times. In the roughly five years I’ve had it.

Haha. I actually just those and some old Disney ones to the recycling person at the dump. I have not had a vcr in at least 10 years. I only brought blu-rays in the apartment outside of the old Sherlock and Hitchcock regular dvds. Rest are down in storage.

Yup, connected and still working. I've been a long time anime fan and have anime series on VHS that are not streaming. Plan to watch those one last time and sell off the tapes. I was surprised to see on Reddit that there are people still collecting anime VHS tapes. I have some very nice box sets.

We also have a bunch of Disney tapes but those are available on the streaming service now. I have a copy of Ghibli's Totoro that has a unique audio track as they changed the audio when they published the DVD. Need to set up my capture card and make a digital copy for my daughter.

We also have some family video still on VHS that needs to get digitized, although a professional service would probably be faster.

I have all the mini vhs tapes from the recorder. I believe I moved them all to DVD years ago but that is something to think about. I know I tossed the recorder during the move but kept all the tapes and dvd's. My daughter is staying with me tomorrow and then we are doing a day out on Thursday while she is home from college. Maybe I can find some of the DVD's to show her. So proud. She took a gap year and then decided wtf I'll just graduate in 3 years. I am in awe.
