I am all for a fall date! June 17th in Texas will be Hot!!

Any lines on Hotels in the area so to book rooms now?
I've looked around the web for hotels. Most will not let you book over a year in advance. But I was thinking about some of the larger chains around the airport. If I have my RV by then I might even think about driving out.

I would probably go for one of the Residence Inn. This one is closest:

The 3rd driver for Sauber did not to the attend Canadian GP, then Perez is deemed unfit to race, so the 3rd driver (aka doofus) is back in Mexico, unable to race!!! Good ole Pedro De La Rosa is stepping in. He's driving the Sauber wearing a Mclaren jumpsuit!!

Holy Smokes!

Get a look at those lap times!

They are very close to the outright lap record!

Very cool stuff considering all that has been done to slow the cars down.

Can you imagine the times capable with the advances in tires & aero that would be possible today with 2004 regulations and engine power??

I hope that Alonso can put something special together today and pull off a win. Ferrari have been improving form lately and I hope it culminates today with a victory.

Aaargh, rain delays the race and of course the flipping DVR didn't record all of it. I saw up to the first rain delay, then the last lap on replay, when Vettel spun on the last lap! Hamilton would have won if Button hadn't hit him. Looks like Button didn't know Hamilton was was way faster coming through the chicane and was pulling up on the outside. Poor Hammy, couple collisions in Monaco and now Canada as well.

From all reports, it was an awesome race.

FYI, if you haven't seen X-Men 1st class, go see it!

Hammy dropped the ball again, IMO!

Right in the first lap, he kicked Webber's a$$ and afterwards his mate Button, when he went out of the race (his falut, of course).

I do like Hammy, but there's gotta be something really wrong with him and I wouldn't be surprised if he suffers a penalty for the next race in Spain, such as a 20 seconds penalty, who knows?

I couldn't watch the race, but it seems Button did it in spades, though.

Hamilton drove like an idiot in that kind of weather and paid the price. He brought it on himself. Never try to cut in on another driver and try to force him out of the dry line. One of you will end up in the wall.

On the other hand, Jenson Button had an outstanding drive. That pass at the end of the race took a man with a huge set of attachments. Going out into the wet area of the track with a set of slicks on the car.

Funny thing is I would have missed the race if it wasn't for the rain delay. I forgot to change my DVR over to Fox instead of Speed. I joined the broadcast when they first got red flagged, so I really only missed the start.

Button apologized to Hamilton, said he didn't see Hamilton coming up beside him. Hamilton was optimistic, but still, it was a chance to pass. He needs to calm it down though, not every chance has to be taken right away. As for Webber, I have no pity, did the same thing to Hamilton at last years final race. Never ceases to amaze me why drivers still try to turn in on the inside car, you always going to get spun!

Anyways, I was soooooo glad someone else won, more so that Vettel tossed away on the last lap, the look on his face was priceless. He's still going to be champion, but I'll take these moments when they come.

Ragged,

the reason - IMO - for Button to apologize to Hammy, is due to the fact Button himself is a gent, as we all know... I wouldn't expect the very same behavior from Hammy at all... Anyway, I 'm also glad that someone else beated Vettel, for the sake of F1 entertainment, though.

Yeah, I missed everything after the 1st rain delay as well, but also I flipped to the channel right after the allotted time, but then it was MotoGP, or superbikes? I would have loved to watch it live, but I guess Speed is replaying it tomorrow, thank goodness, so I'll be DVR'ing it then.

Word on the street. Ecclestones daughter just bought a mansion in Beverly Hills for a cool 95 mill. She also bought 2 condos worth 35 mill. She's 22. So that's where his F1 cash is going!

Changing engine mapping between qualifying and race is now banned. Blown diffusers will be banned from Silverstone onwards. Good!
