Wow, good race! Ban the blown diffuser mid season... who benefits.. Ferrari. Conspiracy theorists are all over that, just like the mass dampers being banned, many said it was because Ferrari couldn't get it to work.

Poor ole Webber, team orders mate, maintain the gap, aka, don't overtake Vettel. Sucks for him. At least the 1-2-3 gap in quali was wasn't .5 seconds, so that's good. I think Alonso would have won anyway, even if Vettel didn't have a bad pitstop. He was ripping laps times all the way to the end. Hamilton shows again why he's the best overtaker right now, too bad fuel issues messed him up. Real close finish between him and Massa, even with Massa clobbering him at the end.

That was a pretty good race. Alonso built a very strong lead that was as high as 19 seconds over Vettel. I am happy that Ferrari finally appears to be back in the fight. It would take a huge win streak by Alonso to have a shot at the title now but it looks like the rest of the season will be interesting.

There was crappy pit stops from all, not just Red Bull. The wheel nut incident with Button's car was ridiculous. But the race was pretty good. Not as many Renault engine failures as predicted.

I can't stand Hamilton, so hearing him complain about not enough information about his fuel was funny.

Ferarri deserved that win. They ran a great race.

Yeah, that Button wheel-nut thing was insanity; it was crazy watching the replay with the wheel almost coming off the car! I used to root against Alonso because I think he's kind of a diva, but it looks like he's mellowed out a bit with Ferrari and it seems to be a good pairing. Plus, I'd rather see him win than Vettel all the time. Still, as much of a diva I think Hamilton is also, Mclaren is still my all time fav team, it'd be nice to see Button win another title.

All modern F1 drivers are divas, have you seen the way Heidfeld walks! Ha!

Nurburgring is up next. I'm actually excited about this one. Rain, DRS zone heading into the chicane and iffy tires should make this a good race to watch.

As usual, Mercedes should bring up something new on Mc Larens though.
It's one of my favourite race tracks indeed ( my # 1 track is Belgium ).

Nice! I have the practice session on Speed DVR'd, so I'll be able to see it when I get home. Gotta say though, I do like watching it a bit more on Speed rather than Fox for their pre-race stuffs and full post-race podium interviews.

I was surprised to see Webber grabbing the pole over his mate Vettel.
Matter of fact, it's the first time - after the last 12 races - that Vettel will start on second row. Sure it'll be a nice race though and I belive Mc Laren/Mercedes will perform pretty well indeed.

Hmm, I think Hamilton is the only one of the top 5 running a dry race setup. Everyone else setup expecting rain, that's why he's up front. Button's on an aggressive rain setup, thus, he's 1.1 seconds behind Hamilton. At least Vettels' got to pass 2 of the hardest people to pass. Should be good tomorrow!

What a nice race yesterday... seemed like the ol' good times though!

Needless to say Vettel had problems; otherwise he wouldn't be running in fith at all and on last lap he got fourth at the pit lane over Massa (once again Ferrari team dropped the ball here...).

All in all a nice race and Hammy did his best and got the prize though!
Next race will be in Hungary, the most boring F1 race track, IMO.

The race was good, but to be honest the battle over at the Rolex Series (GRAND AM) between Scott Pruett and the rest of the pack was more exciting.....

Ferrari is getting back to road racing "officially":

According to GRAND-AM:

"Ferrari Debuting New F458 at 2-Day Daytona Test
July 25, 2011

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Ferrari is back on the high banks.
Returning to Daytona International Speedway, site of so many past sport car glories for the famed manufacturer, Ferrari will debut its version of the F458 Italia specifically built for the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series on Tuesday and Wednesday. Several of the new cars are expected to compete in the 50th anniversary of the Rolex 24 At Daytona on Jan. 28-29, 2012.
Factory driver Jamie Melo is expected to be the lead driver in the test, slated to beginning at 9 a.m. both days.
"This test is highly significant and obviously exciting, not only for the present but also the future of GRAND-AM," said Mark Raffauf, GRAND-AM's managing director of competition. "A major Ferrari presence at the Rolex 24 in January ... what a showcase for the new car and the Rolex Series. This is indicative of a burgeoning European manufacturer interest in GRAND-AM."

Oh ho ho ho!! What race by Hamilton, seriously, some key passes and defensive moves, especially after pit stops, wow!!

This weekends race should be good too, there's nothing really between Vettel and Hamilton in quali.

On another note, my first kid was born on Monday, a healthy baby boy!!

Thanks Stratman! Still in haven't really come back down to earth yet.

Great race today too. Hamilton drove awesome in the wet, the first 25 laps were amazing to see the cars twitching around. Button again called the strategy. Hamiltons drive thru penalty was deserved. Looks like Mclaren have definitely caught the bulls.
