Realistic? Look at Megatron. He's a giant pile of metal shards that don't appear to fit together in any way. There's no obvious mechanism for movement.

Bumblebee and Prime look pretty good, but most of the Decepticons look more like aliens than machines. Random metal protrusions in a vaguely humanoid shape don't make a good Transformer IMO.

Oh well. I'll still see it and probably love it.

Megatron isn't a car, he's an Alein Jet... here.

This is him in vehicle mode. He doesn't stray that far this. These transformers have to have mechanical parts that function. Big rectangular legs and square bodies with the random hints of a vehicle are things of the past. This shows that the vehicle is only a shell, not part of the robot itself.

Prime and Bumblebee have apparent mechanisms for movement. Gears and that kind of thing. Jazz looks pretty OK too. Starscream maybe. But Megatron just looks awful. There's no conceivable engineering reason for the dozens of random metal protrusions and excessively scrambled shell pieces that don't even look like they fit together.

It looks excessively organic. I just don't like it. We can disagree

Remember, he's Alien. Maybe the designers just got lazy figured if they make him alien they won't have to make it look possible. lawl.

That's almost exactly it - they don't appear to be realistic. In an effort to be "more" realistic, they kind of screwed it up. We KNOW how things work - simple is better (not to mention more reliable).

The plastic toys WORKED. With slight modifications, the Transformers could actually look like they functioned. Instead, Megatron and even the Jet thing (I still don't see StarScream in the imdb credits) looks like they have so many moving parts that they are fragile.

Plus I HATE the concept of metal bending... Come-on, did they really have to bend metal to make the robots work? That alone is a major pet peeve. Sheet metal doesn't bend very well - the idea that it will bend, unbend, multiple times per day - and hold its shape/integrity is ridiculous.

This movie will be action-packed, but they really screwed up the designs. Prime looks good, Bumblebee is OK... maybe everyone else will die and the sequel can look better. lol. Megatron is the real joke. Looks like a robotic pile of spaghetti - did he emerge from a trash heap?

It is highly doubtful an advanced alien robotic race would use sheet metal. In our present time, we already have Memory Metal technology that can restore to its normal shape after being heated. Perhaps they have an even more advanced version of this metal. If so, it would be cool if they literally "heated" up while transforming making them untouchable for a short time until their bodies cooled off

I work in the comic book business, and 4 of the people from work saw it already, everyone enjoyed it alot, 2 people have said there going again this weekend to see it again!...I guess it must be pretty good then, i'm going Thursday

This movie, is simply amazing... If you've seen 300, take all the awesomeness, and transform it. ALL THE AUTOBOTS CAN TALK! THEY ALL TALK!

Seriously.... I'm breathing hard, I won't be able to sleep! The movie is long, but it never feels like it dragged. The CGI is perfect. What you watch, is a car, turn into a robot. Not a computer turn a car into a robot, a car, willingly turn itself into a robot.

I'm seeing it again within 5 days. It's sooo freaking awesome, and I had a bad seat... my neck it sore, and I keep twitching, but i don't care, I'd sit there again just to see it.

Clint, take your theories and stuff it They in my opinion, did a homage to the old ones, by modernizing it, and not making it suck. Yeah yeah, they're different cars. But do you really want a transformers movie center in the 1980s? No.

And to let you know, there isn't anything at the very end of the credits, so don't wait through them, there is one last clip that will be VERY important, and once that passes, you can leave.

Glad to hear this. Rotten Tomatoes gave it fairly positive reviews and they hate almost everything. While it may lack the charm and nostalgia of the old G1 show and movie, I am sure the lack of messed up animation of dual Starscreams, Spike carrying a giant robot transformed into a casette deck in one hand, Megatron moving Cybertron instantly to earth, and every other law of physics and common sense violated won't be missed. It will however be refreshing for it to be a bit more real and dark as the clips portray.

Regardless of what the critics say, I am going to see this next week with friends and family including a friend of mine whom I've known since childhood. The energy of the audience alone is likely worth the price of admission. I can't wait!

There is parts where Optimus and Megatron quote lines from the original movie. We were clapping, the whole theater was clapping. The dialog between all the characters is also quite witty, and it makes the non actions scene entertaining.

The only time I go is when my girl drags me or if its the dollar theater and I have friends insisting. I was planning on just netflixing this movie but you people keep talking about how awesome it is and now I am tempted to go to the theater infact if I hadn't had a bad experience on Monday I probably would have seen it already especially with people like sheep drooling over it.

Disappointing. The show focuses on human characters, not the Transformers. The Transformers seem to be used only as an excuse for dazzling action scenes. This movie is about 95% action. Typical mindless Hollywood script. I really can't say how the movie relates to the G1 story; since so little story/history was actually covered. There were some minor changes that were obvious, but anything major? I don't know. Frankly, this movie was all action. Story took a distance 2nd place here. If I had not been with someone else, I would have walked out about 1/2 way through due to boredom(mindless action does not usually satisfy me).
