Hi,

First post but I was drawn by the topic.

Studio Reference 100 V2s:

Still going strong nearly 25 years later.
Capable of outdoing the old 12" ported Energy sub by a good margin according to ARC:

I have a new sub on order that will hopefully keep up and blend in nicely with the old 8s in the 100s.

I also have a pair of Mini Monitor v6s in the office/bedroom system. With some recent changes up there (new D70 Pro Sabre DAC and new stands and angled lifts to get them up over the clutter line of monitors, etc and angled back down a bit towards the listening level) they're sound rather fine lately. I had already ordered some Lumina II Amators to replace them with (just always wanted to own some Sonus Fabers), but if I don't like them, the Minis will not be hard to go back to. Might try Founder 40Bs if the SFs don't work out.

Does anyone here have any experience with the Paradigm Monitor SE 2000c ? What's your take on it?

Would help to know what your main L+R speakers are and the seating distance. The SE 2000c is a two-way design which tends to lead to lobbing effects off center. If you have Paradigm Monitors for mains, it could be ok for a single person setup but for group viewing a 3-way center yields better results.

.......so I assume everyone is listening to there paradigm founders and that's why it's sooo quiet in here?
Getting ready to swap out studio 60vs 4 for founder 100s.
.....resume the quietness.....☮

What finish are you going with?

I would love to go audition a pair of Founder 100s, but I don't think it's in the cards financially right now. Plus it's a 3-4 hour drive to get to a dealer that actually has them on the floor, so I probably won't go listen unless I'm serious about buying right now.

Audiobliss67,
I ran across your post from several months ago.. I'm considering a similar path.. Studio 60 v4's that I have enjoyed for 17 years for Founder 80F (100F definitely not in my price range) or Premier 800F. How are the Founders compared to your previous Studio 60s, and did you consider the Premiers at all?

Hello
Yes I have had the studio 60 vs 4 and Vs3 before those being used with a nice front end of parasound halo and Anthem.
I absolutely have loved the studios for at least 15 years or so and wanted to upgrade just to see if it could get better ..well my founder 100 have been set-up and playing since Thanksgiving and right out of the box they just had a different sound to them...very clean transparent and the details in the bass is something I have never heard before...but I was not to happy.
But all that changed during a hopeful listening session yesterday just like that everything came together more than I could have hoped for and this is the best sound my ears have ever heard.
The 80s will most definitely be a major upgrade in your sound...just be patient and let them run awhile before critical listening.
You will be pleasantly surprised and taken on a journey!

And paradigm is having the sale until January 4th
That was the only way I could have got the 100s.

If you are in the IL area, I have a really good Paradigm dealer that has helped out a few referrals on this site. No affiliation, no benefit to me other than sharing a good experience. Got my Persona C, the stand, and Anthem AVM 70 from Simply Stereo in Palatine Il. I will have to look up the name of my rep, it's been a while. If you aren't local to that area I would try to look up and work with some Paradigm Dealers by you as you will probably do a little better on pricing and support.

The midnight cherry finish on the Founders is really incredible.

Thanks for the info! I am very close to ordering the 80s from my local dealer, especially now with the rare opportunity to get them on sale. I just absolutely love the sound of my Studio 60s and don't want to invest what for me is a significant amount of money and be totally disappointed or even indifferent.

Understandable....I absolutely loved and still do my studio 60...they are in storage now...a place I never imagined them to be. But the Founders absolutely bested them and it was not by just a lil bit.
Just give them a good week of playing before doing any critical listening and you will be rewarded beyond anything you was expecting.
My set-up has never ever sounded this good !
Patience is well rewarded.

I guess this is as good a place as any to post this …

I just got delivered a pair of Monitor SE 6000F’s, to go with my new WiiM Amp Pro. I measured the area they’d be going in before I ordered, but they sure are bigger than I expected. Not a bad thing, because they’re still fairly small for towers. Just something to get used to, since I haven’t had anything more than bookshelf speakers in this room since I’ve lived here. Now I haven’t put them through their paces yet, being that they’re brand new and need a little breaking in. But right off the bat, at very modestly low listening levels, I am very impressed with how they sound. Nice full, clear sound, even streaming Christmas oldies on crappy SiriusXM is very listenable. They are definitely louder than the Polk bookshelf’s they’re replacing; in fact I need to push the volume in my sub up quite a bit to be heard over them.

I know there’s a lot better stuff out there, but these are the nicest speakers I’ve ever owned and were a retirement gift to myself (hanging it up in just a couple of weeks!), so they’re keepers for sure. And likely the last sound gear I’ll be buying for myself. More to come when I finally get to turn them loose.

Your going to really really enjoy those paradigms for many years...let them run for about a week and then just sit down with absolutely no distractions and just listen ,your really going to be very happy with them.
I have only owned towers and paradigm for over 4 decades...I just put my studio 60 aside and set up Founder 100s a few weeks ago, took about a week for me to be super happy with them !
Great choice....enjoy!
