I just called an industrial workbench manufacturer and had them build a black workbench to my specifications. It holds 500 lbs. I actually had it built for another application, but it happened to fit the 65" plasma perfectly.

For Sleestack - Andra II vs Vandy 5as

Sleestack,

I am ready to purchase a new pair of speakers and narrowed the purchase down to the Andra II and the Vandersteen 5a. Can you spare a few moments and give me your opinion on the Andra II? Does it go down to 20hz? If paired to a Krell FPB 300, do you think I'll need a sub?

Also, I see you dismissed Vandy in an earlier post as not being what you want. If you listened to the 5a, could you please give some details as to what you heard and what made you decide on the Andra II vs 5as? I've been looking for someone who chose one speaker over the other and would appreciate any comparisons you can give. Feel free to go into long details if you can spare the time.

I was close to pulling the trigger on the Andra II but now the Savoys got my attention. Two problems: 1. The Savoys may overpower my 14' x 20' room and/or limit the bass (I really want to hit 20 hz for cannon blasts and deep pipe organ music) and 2. Payment for the Savoys!
