When I worked all the time, I listened to my speakers at work all day. By the time I turned it off before clocking out, I was done listening to the music and the silence was indeed, golden. I have a pair of JBL LSR 305s at work now with a little Aiyima Bluetooth tube preamp and now with mass exposure from streaming, I actually have to curb my usage if I want to listen at home after work. If I get busy and forget to turn on music at work, I am definitely ready for some when I get home.
I am the only serious two channel listener among my friends. Two have surround theaters but have somewhat put them on hold too, and mostly watch with the sound bars out in their living rooms now. I think perhaps the rabbit hole they dove down 8-10 years ago somewhat collapsed from movie watching and gear acquisition overload. For awhile there, that's all they ate, slept and breathed.
Somehow, in spite of my never evolving beyond 2.2, I have listened nearly every day for the last 40 of 50 years at this, or ever since I bought my first serious setup. Currently, I am torn between 2 systems. The main 2-channel system with subs, which is more audiophile, in nature, or the old JBL 3-ways in the garage, which are better than they have a right being. The latter of which, I had to pry myself away from tonight, after 7 hrs of solid streaming.
Already thinking about tomorrow's session.
