Rediscovering my Home Theater

Yes, I still check this site fairly often, but work and life has gotten in the way quite a bit from my enjoying my home theater. I got promoted at the beginning of the year which has lead to 16 hour works days and constant slack messages. Even on weekends it's about catching up tasks.
  • All to often it has been, "we can just watch in the family room", (lazy syndrome) it sounds good enough.
  • Sometimes we even listen to the TV Sound...I know, granted for general listening, Sony TVs are decent enough
  • Two channel room is collecting a bit of dust.
Getting ready to head out for the next two weeks for Miami and London (both work) back to back. Got up early to do all my tasks, actually was able to make it a movie night

Ballerina - A John Wick Story. Not a great movie, but enjoyed it. More importantly really enjoyed it sitting back in the home theater chairs surrounded by sound.
  • Forgot what it was like to hear every sound so clearly (glass cracking, bass thumping), but an immediate smile on my face.
  • Actually hearing clean/clear dialogue
  • Oh yes, that is what surround sound Dolby Atmos 11.4.2 sounds like, I forgot about it LOL
Moral of the story, I knew there was a reason why I spent so much $$$ and time setting up/tweaking ARC Genesis on my home theater room. I need to spend more time enjoying it. The good thing is that I am still very happy with the setup and have zero interest in upgrading speakers or equipment.

My company has our anual event and picked the worst place to have it, Sofitel right next to London Heathrow Airport. We are usually at the Park Plaza in the middle of London.
  • At least we have Sir Bob Geldof doing one of our Keynotes. Mr Live Aid himself :)
  • We are seing Live Aid the Play on Saturday
  • NFL on Sunday (Broncos / Jets I Think) not at Wembley this time :(
  • The last day I am there me and a buddy training it to Disney Paris LOL
Oh and we will being doing some work on Monday/Tuesday. LHR sucks there is nothing close by. Everything is a haul

Yes, I know that place. You are very close to Windsor Castle there. If you get time it is well worth a visit. It is a marvelous place.
