Playing Abbey Road by The Fabs and I have never heard the hammer/anvil sound in Maxwell's Silver Hammer (top ten worst Beatles songs) so crystal clear in my lifetime on the Q60's.

I can't find much about that speaker, so you would have to chance it. I think painting it is a really bad idea. You would have to sand it down and them have them pained in a spray booth.
