Are there any advantages to using all monoblocks over a multi-channel amp besides each amp having a dedicated power supply? I can see where this would be an advantage if you were driving ribbon / planner or 4 ohm speakers but are there any other real advantages? Also having 6 amps turning on at the same time is not good and my power conditioner only has on delayed / on “Amp” plug; do they make a staggered power bar for running multiple Amps?
I am making the move from AV receiver to Separates and have decided on the Outlaw 990 pre/processor but have not decided on the amp yet. I know they are getting ready to release a new 200W 5 & 7 channel Amp with balanced interconnects and I will wait for these to be released if I go the multi-channel Amp route.
Any of you using the Outlaw 990 pre/processor?
The speakers I am driving right now are Energy Connoisseurs; 3 C-C3’s in the front and a pair of C-3’s for the rear and will be adding a C-R3 rear for 6.1 soon.
