While they are still readily available, Newegg says they are discontinued signaling a possible shortage in the near future. Anybody know what's going on? Are they discontinued? Is Pioneer upgrading them like the 51 to 52?

Newegg hasn't had them in a while as a matter of fact. They are on sale at Amazon and BB right now also. Not the lowest they've been, but not bad. Last edited: Nov 4, 2013

Other than an amplified speaker, you pretty much don't need a warranty on a speaker IMO. Plus, as long as you buy them at one of the recommended places new, the warranty stands.
