Make sure the DCM stuff is not connected until you figure out whether it is 8ohm. Just connect the SVS prime bookshelves first. Send us the DCM model number. Maybe we can help you find info online on the specs.

Center and sealed sub arrived. I’m tempted to open the sealed. Where can I try to sell it? Someone seemed to say I could make a few bucks on selling it myself vs returning.

I think selling a sub depends largely on your local market so you don't have the expense of shipping. Whether you can make money...depends how long you want to try I think. Good luck. Maybe that's your bedroom sub instead?

Ok guys...an update. All of my equipment arrived. SVS Prime bookshelves, center and PB12-NSD. Called SVS and got my receiver dialed in.

First off the sub is amazing! Can’t even explain how much better it is from my old DCM or even my Dad’s Bose he runs. Next...I’m underwhelmed by the speakers. Granted the LF/RF are sitting on my floor as I don’t have stands...I can’t seem to find a setting in my receiver that makes them sound decent. They either have too much in the vocal side or I can’t hear them unless they’re turned up pretty loud. I’ve watched Blade Runner, Amazon Prime Mr. Robot and just OTA tv. Thoughts? Recommendations?

You've got to get your speakers up on stands. You can not make any evaluative judgments about their sound until they're physically set up properly.
Which makes me question "got my receiver dialed in." Not sure what you meant by this, but if you ran your YPAO with this current speaker set up you'll need to run it again as soon as you get the speakers up on stands. Then you can start to critique the sound. Until then, it's still a work in progress.

I was going by post 77:

In the past my fronts were wired to the sub. I only had the two speakers hooked up. Nothing else.

Receiver is Yamaha RX-V365.

OK, so you don't have a Yamaha RX-V365? Either way, you still need to get your SVS speakers up off the floor before you can evaluate them. Good luck with everything. I'm sure it will sound great once it's set up properly.

I called Ascend to discuss my choice and they quickly told me I could get the rear speakers too for only $40 more so I jumped on the package deal. Basically got 5 speakers for $100 more than the SVS I originally ordered....the difference being shipping. Now I have to find stands for the rears. Any suggestions? My couch is against the wall and I can’t wall mount the speakers.

Congrats. I have several Ascends, think you'll be happy with your selection. Did you get 200SE or 170SE for surrounds? For stands even Amazon can work or a specialty place like standsandmounts.com. I find prices vary a lot even for same basic stand so shop carefully. I recently got a pair of these stands but for larger/heavier speakers may be a bit wobbly (but I figure I can modify the base if I need to, currently using them for a pair of JBL LSR305s).

Also, displaythisway.com... just bought VTI RF 36 from them. Heavy duty stand for 34# speakers. Definitely look through amazon. Just remember in your process: check the weight the stand can support, and that you want to keep the tweeters at ear level up front, and slightly above ear level for any surrounds. Not gonna kill anything if you're off a little, but just try for close.
(For me, ear level is about 49", but I'm tall and tend to sit very upright rather than sinking into an ez chair or couch).
Dina at Ascend is wonderful. She called me back after I hung up on their answering system... Who does that!?! I know Lovin' is an Ascend fan, too, from previous conversations. I almost spent 2 days in a car to go audition their Sierra line in San Clemente.

Yeah I think it was just a matter of sitting on the floor. I propped them up last weekend and they were better. My only gripe with the Primes is they hurt my ears when certain women sing.

Try toeing your speakers out... more perpendicular to the wall so that you are a little bit more off-axis at your LP. I experienced the same thing with KEF, and one of our more respected friends recommended that.
