Just ask them if the voices inside your head are too loud for them. You'll be sent packing in a few minutes.

A favorite of mine is to say "I have arguments with myself that turn violent."

It looks like I really have to go. My number is 40.

I just got home from my day of jury duty. No trial for me!

In the morning, I was sent to a court room as a prospective juror for a criminal case for drug possession. There were about 45 people in the juror pool for this trial. Although many others had some thing to say as answers to the judge's questions during the selection process, the jury of 12 was selected before they got to me (#40). The unselected prospective jurors were sent back to the jury lounge (yes, they called it a lounge :D), where we waited until about 2 pm. Then they started calling numbers of people who were done for the day.

I got $15 for my efforts.

Nice. Here in tarrant county, we get $8 (or $6?) for the first day, and $40 for each additional day. I had to sign the checks over to my job though, since work still paid me for those two missing days :)

Pretty good. We get $15/day period like Swerd.

45 people? The case I was in with there were well over 200 people just the first day. They didn't eliminate me until the second day and also didn't pay me for that day.

We get $5.00 and free parking.

We also got a voucher for parking, but the parking lot was at some minor league baseball field a few miles away (you also got a bus voucher). I opted to park in a garage across the street from the courthouse at a cost of $20.
