I've also been watching Youtube videos to learn how to use AutoCAD and working on drawing up my plans in that.

AutoCAD is pretty complex. I use the free Google SketchUp software to render in 3D. The main web page will have the paid version, but if you look for SketchUp version 8 there should be several download sites with it.
