What are you talking about? I didn't tell anyone what to think and want. Did you? Milwaukee isn't special by any means. Of course I wouldn't mind if the politicians actually executed on oversight of existing rules in all sorts of areas, not just welfare. We have corporate welfare in this country and I'd like to cut that off, too.

Milwaukee has been called 'The most segregated city in America' for a long time, so yeah, it's special but it's segregated by design and has been since Mayor Henry H Meier, who was elected in 1960. MKE has had three mayors since, all Democrat and all varied in degree of bad thinking.

History shows that the main thrust of the modern day Republican ideology rests on whittling down the power of the federal/state/local government(s) to the bare minimum, except for the presidency.

And in some cases I agree. Too many times an agency is created and self-perpetuates to an unnatural degree, even after it isn't needed anymore and becomes a source of pork-barrel largess for both parties, even some Republicans.

At the same time, some agencies like the EPA, FDA, etc., agencies that provide protection for consumers ... us ... have been neutered to serve big business interests (coal, banking, schools, etc.).

The ACA and loss of federal support for research seem to have happened at roughly the same time, but as we have seen, the ACA wasn't supposed to work and it was planned to be punative, as shown by the IRS being allowed to fine people for not joining.

Terrible plan, terrible implementation and oversight was nil- what could go wrong? Congress needs to be retooled, the ability to take money for influence needs to stop and we need to get people in there who aren't a bunch of whores.

I wonder where they will be found.

Obviously Mueller and his team were able to prove that a conspiracy existed between members of the Trump Campaign and the Russians but Donnie Boy was able to escape entanglement ... so far. All of this talk of collusion is bull$hit, it's not a crime on the books. But conspiracy is and harder to prove. But 34 people were indicted and that's a good start.

Personally I would rather we the country avoid impeachment at this time. Mike Pence, the living embodiment of a White Walker, scares the bejesus out of me with some of his personal beliefs. At least with Trump he can be swayed by the latest polls to try to do the right thing, since the only thing he believes in is his Texas size ego and taking credit for something/anything he didn't have anything to do with.

I still think that the New York District Attorney's office is lying in wait for him after he's out of office. Patience.

Yes the partisans will put their own spin on it, but I don't agree that nothing will be accomplished. There are a lot of people with open minds about the issue that will listen. The majority of those people are probably independent voters, but there are some republicans that are listening as well. Look at the response of Rep. Amash. He read the report and realized what it actually says. There will always be sycophants that brush Trump's conduct under the rug, but don't lose faith. There are still good people on both sides of the table.

I am starting to think that in 2020 there may be a reverse "secret" vote. In 2016, polling didn't account for a lot of people that voted for Trump but were afraid to let that be known publicly for fear of ridicule and retribution. Now after 2.5 years of Trump bullying everyone and his followers and internet trolls ramping up the rhetoric, there well could be a contingency of voters that vote for the Democrat but are afraid to say it out loud. It may be wishful thinking, but it helps me sleep at night.

Well, at a minimum, I would expect someone to ask "Does your report exonerate Trump from obstruction of justice?"
Obviously it didn't and I don't think Mueller will be obscure with his response. That will leave many having to choose between believing Trump or Mueller. Some fraction of those will appreciate Mueller's record of service to the country and consider the fact that Mueller has not been very aggressive if he was truly head of a "lynch squad" going after Trump!

BTW, you might try Reuters TV as an impartial news source. If you know of others, I am all ears!
