Could be. I remember building snow forts as early as October and the winter usually eased up by March, but it was a long time ago so I could be remembering incorrectly. These days, winter doesn't really start until December and sometimes snow shows up in April. It seems we hardly have a fall and spring anymore.New England is getting back to a typical winter pattern, like we had 30+ years ago. I remember -40°F and snow drifts up to the 2nd floor windows as recently as the 1960s. It's only from 1980 onward that winters have been mild.
