Honestly, it really depends on what PJ you get as to whether it would work. Mine has a "sports" mode that doesn't look accurate as far as PQ goes, but it works just fine with the lights on. My PJ is old and there are MUCH better options for daytime type viewing that could work very well for you. Or, get a big LCD/OLED and enjoy, but can't match the price/screen size of a PJ.
