How to properly configure this sub?

I thought it would be easy but I don't know why is not working

But I'm not getting any output please help!

You have one sub, so use the top sub out. Have you done the set up, as per the manual. You need to select 5.1 to get the sub to output. Advance the crossover on the sub fully clockwise.

Now do the set up with the microphone. Do you hear sound from the sub during setup?

Read your manual carefully. Most of these problems that we get are caused by people not reading their set up manual and or not following it.

On the remote select speakers, then there should be a menu where you can adjust the level of each speaker. That receiver can produce 2 volts at the sub outs, and that should be enough to make any sub blast. So you are doing something wrong. We are not there, so you will have to figure it out.

Have you set all your speakers to small? You need to do this in the speaker set up menu. Then you need to set the crossover frequency for each speaker. You can select from 40 to 200 Hz. Then you set the sub level in the speaker set up menu. I have found out, though it does not state this in the manual, that there will be no sub output unless you set your speakers to small and say yes to sub.

I tried setting it to small and large but left it at large because feels there's more output, should I leave it at small? it's these speakers: Monolith Encore T6

My gain knob on the sub is at like 90% and it shakes the room fairly well, idk if my expectations were too high, I thought like 50% would be enough.

If you run Audyssey (or whatever automagic calibration routine) with the sub's gain at 90%, the AVR will compensate by extremely low output from the sub out(s).

You should re-check everything (settings in the AVR, and as mentioned connect using the top sub pre-out on the AVR to sub's input 1), reel that sub gain way back (11-12 on the dial, higher than half way should be unnecessary), rerun calibration.

This is a $300.00 bog basic receiver and it does not have audyssey.

Well, then he'll have to set the filters and gain/output levels manually, which you've already covered. And there is still no reason to have his sub cranked. Unless he set the sub out too low.

The subwoofer's crossover setting should be set to THX(OFF) to bypass it using the crossover toggle switch and its gain/level set at 12 o' clock. The speakers should be set to small. If using 2ch Stereo sound mode, there will NOT be a signal sent to the subwoofer when playing two channel signals. Try Direct(digital signals only) or Audio Enhancer mode to play two channel signals to the Front speakers AND the Subwoofer. Oh, and for f#%k's sake, read your manuals.

Is the amp panel still flashing? It should only do that for a minute or so after the sub is turned on. If it is continously doing that, there is a fault. I would disconnect the sub from the power, leave it unconnected for a couple of minutes or so, and then reconnect. If the back panel LED is still flashing, something is wrong, probably with the sub itself.

It doesn't happen all the time, today I was testing it and there was a slight fluctuation on the power grid and it went into protection mode: flashing red and green, I had to manually restart it, I live in Venezuela and power grid fluctuations are a regular thing, is there something that can be done about it? I have it connected to a big UPS system but I guess the voltage slightly changed and that triggered the protection mode.

Alright, I re-ran the mic test with these values:

Crossover: Max
Phase: 0
Level: 12 o'clock

Crossover: THX (OFF)
EQ: Extended

The mic test set the speaker size to larger but I changed it to small as Trebdp83 suggested, is 120Hz ok? it's for the Monolith Encore T6's

Is it normal that I don't notice that much difference between pure direct on and off? I know having it on uses the sub because I can see it moving, and having it off doesn't move the subwoofer but honestly I don't notice that much difference when the sub is playing.
