Cheers for the advice guys... really, its helpful!

I'm pretty chill in general, I think its just the format of adult dating that is messing with me.

I'm sure it will be fine, it's just my friends are still just looking for a whore so its hard to ask them for advice on finding a normal girl. Without the aid of drugs, alcohol, dim and flashing lights, in a place where you basically have to kiss in order to talk because it is so loud.... its different. haha. I'm just tired of ending up with the same dumb slut with a drug problem. ;) Of course I won't say that on the date haha

hehehhe

Nope - stickin with the great girl I have now...

Not sure I could find one as cool as her....
You are lucky Warp. Very few women will encourage an audio addiction. Mine doesn't really encourage, but at least understands and doesn't have an issue with it.

No question buddy.... She's awesome...

In fact, when my new 18" LMS's came in the other day - she helped me tweak the boxes and install the drivers and we both had an awesome time that afternoon and all through the evening. She was an awesome helper and I couldn't have got up and running without her help. Then just the night before she helped me run a few new lines of Cat6 for the new server.

But back to the OP - want some tips on dating, watch the entire series of Big Bang Theory - you can get a great understanding on how not to be a social retard...

Women are pretty simple, they want to be loved, have fun - laugh and find the person that is compatible with how they are built. She already agreed to a date with you, she likes you !!! Be fun, curteous - nice to the servers that you encounter like at a restaraunt, TIP THEM - women hate cheapskates.... and above all - get her Hammered so she is somewhat blind to any and all social ratarded-ness you may or may not have !!!! :)

... I'm more looking for a companion than just a girl to bed...
In that case, my advice would be to get a Labrador Retriever, and skip the date. My new motto is "The more time I spend around people ..... the better I like my dogs".

But if you decide to follow through with the date, I have this pearl:
Leave you mom and your IPhone at home.

Good call on being polite to the server. Women definately take notice of that kind of thing. Just remember, being nice is not the same as flirting with the hostess. That one will get you points in the negative column. Best advice I can offer is listen to what your date has to say and think before blurting out the first thing that comes to mind.

So, I feel obligated to keep you guys updated for all your help...

She sent me a text message this morning saying she had a family emergency and had to fly home. Said she'd call when she gets there and was very sorry.

:D Give benefit of the doubt? Sketchy, eh?

I'm not too torn up, but, it is sketchy. My sister called me and I told her, she was like 'oh, yeah, uh huh.' haha.

Looks like the theater will get some use tonight. :)

MidnightSensi,

You have your act together and have your head on straight, you should do all right.

You \have been given some great advice. Listen to her let her talk. Active listen, repeat back and ask about what she has said. Ask her, without pushing for an answer, what she would like to do.

You haven't mentioned if this is a girl you want to try to continue to date or if it is a first encounter. I am not sure how your religious preferences are , but church is a great palce to meet nice women. Other groups or clubs are good.

Also since you are obviously an audioholic, if there are any local audio clubs or easy going places that play your type music. Good places to meet.

Again, I will say you are a sharp guy with your head on straight. Have confidence in yourself, be honest, and you should not have any trouble.

Good Luck and Good Sound!

EH, that is a BIT sketchy, but I wouldn't read too much into it... See if she actually calls. Either way, its a weird way to get things started. I'd starting dating one of her friends or sisters if she has one.

Haha, okay.

Yeah, I'll see if she calls. I'm more curious than bummed. Will keep informed.

Watching 'Whiteout' tonight, which sounds like a terrible movie.

that reminds of my favorite line from Barfly: "I like people fine, except when they're around." Mickey Rourke's finest work.

Nah, I'm not that dumb. My girlfriend of 3 years didn't even know of this site. :D I mean, she knew I looked at Audio stuff on the Internet, but...never asked where (not that I wouldn't tell her if she asked).

EDIT: Btw, the movie "Whiteout" is terrible.

I wish I hadn't told my g/f (who is more like a wife) about this site.
She uses it to goof on me in front of dinner guests!
"He's a 'Chief' ... he's a 'General' ... he's a 'Ninja' ... Ha Ha Ha :p :D"

... you get the picture.

I told my nephew about it and he happily tells my sister that I'm an internet celebrity.
That way they can both laugh at my expense.

I'm going to give them bad audio advice.

I feel like Rodney Dangerfield ...No Respect.

When your girl sees your gear, tell her that you are holding it for a friend who is undergoing psychiatric treatment. ;)

Woman are nothing but trouble. Still they are a lot of fun. Hitch has some good advice. I married my college sweetheart, but we did like Gene start out watching the wrong movie. The Godfather was our first movie. Though the horse scene got me a lap dance almost.
