XLR balanced line inputs are essential for my consideration of any sub or amplifier.

1) More finish styles would make these much, much more accepted by the little woman.

2) A slimmer style would allow placement more against a wall and be visually less obtrusive. Combined with my #1 answer, the little woman would be even happier.

3) When you say "boookshelf speakers", I'm assuming an extention of the product line towards more full range speakers. There's no law that says that a subwoofer manufacturer is limited to only that product or can only offer mini satellites to compliment their subwoofer line. Full ranges are nice and, in some situations, a subwoofer isn't even needed. ...say, for music?

I put speakers, and I'd say don't shoot for the budget market, I'd be looking for some good mid-priced (~$500? +/- $50/pr), solid performing bookshelf speakers, since the VT-12 is already a budget minded system.

A nice looking sub is a good thing, but I don't really spend any time looking at my sub; I actually don't WANT to see my sub, just hear and feel it. I want all of the cost to be in the performance, not the appearance. The availability of nice finishes would be worth while sales wise, IMO, I just won't be one of those people who'll be buying a sub based on finish. Same thing with size - I don't have a problem with a larger sub if it gives me the performance I'm after (within reason).

PEQ would be nice also, but not if it ends up adding considerable cost to the subs.

1 - Additional wood veneer choices like cherry, bird's eye maple, ash, rosewood, piano black
This would allow consumers to better match Hsu subs to their HT systems and furniture. It may even convince some consumers to go with the Hsu over other brands since it would match their system. And you cant forget about the wife acceptance factor, it could make it easier for some to get these giant subs into their homes if they looked great and blended in well.
2 - Bookshelf type speakers
Why not try making some decent speakers? You already have well respected subs so challenge yourself to see if you can make high quality speakers as well. If these bookshelf speakers had similar quality and price ratios then they should sell very well. Also, this would be good for those who want all of their speakers to match.
3 - DSP technology
After reading through these forums I have learned that room acoustics and setup is critical to enjoy a great system. This technology would help in acheiving a better sound from the sub.

I chose additional amplifier features, more wood choices and smaller size cabinet. I would like to see a subwoofer that includes all of the above. The affordable subwoofers from the internet providers tend to be rather large, which is why they are affordable and yet sound good. I need something less obtrusive for my living room that still plays low and I think something with a smaller profile and wood choice would help a lot with the WAF.

I chose (in order of importance):

1. DSP technology: With several potential improvements such as THD and IMD correction/prevention, integrated EQ, and many other possibilities, DSP's and other advanced circuitries will bring a new era of subwoofer performance. We have seen already how first wave DSP's such as the one of the Axiom EP series have made a small "wimpy looking" driver perform at amazing levels.

2. Additional finishes: Subwoofers are turning more and more into Form + Function fixtures, and more finishes are an indispensable movement in commercial subwoofers.

3. Website improvements: I'm an E-buyer addict, and many of us are as well. The flow of customers will surely increase, and the experience be even more enjoyable when a very interactive and highly informative (specs, more pics, better layouts, link to customer pics/feedback, comparos, etc) site is used....this one is my pet peeve.

Basically, anything that helps make the sub perform better and easier to integrate.

I picked in order of importance to me:

Additional amp features- would like to see a parametric EQ/mic calibrating on upper models

Additional finishes- Piano black... 'nuff said.

Slicker Web Page- I was looking for the VTF-3 HO and could not find product info.

Anything that lets me hide the sub would be great (WAF)! Could you make one that hides under the couch?

2) Book Shelf Speakers
Again... need something that doesn't dominate the room and bookshelf speakers help with that

3) Misc
I think it would be easier to sell my wife on an entry level that look like other "silver" components but don't sound like ones. Seriously I want excellent quality speakers... but I need them in a unobtrusive package. Slim them down as much as possible... eliminate the wires (can I use a 48V battery pack please? I'll charge it all day long as it lasts 2+ hours). I don't know what freqency or method you need to have sufficent bandwidth... but make something, even if it propritary. The sub and even the fronts can be wired fine... just dewire the sats... ok?

HSU already has top of the line subwoofers, but having only 3 finishes to choose from will keep the really picky customers away.

Apearance means a lot

1. Additional wood veneer choices-- big help for those of us who have multi-use rooms and need to place a SW in a prominent location to get the best sound. More choices would make it easier to blend into the room.

2. Slimmer Design-- See comments above. But the slimmer design shouldn;t have too much sound trade off.

3. Bookshelf Speakers--Picked this one just to round out the three selection requested. But they would seem to be a logical extension to your sub-line.

Of the choices offered, the two biggest improvements I would like to see are:

1. DSP technology - A 1 to 3 band parametric equalizer built into the sub would be ideal. Hsu subs are reknowned for excellent build quality and performance, but room interactions can nullify all that quality. Give the Hsu a chance to show it's true colors by including a tool to compensate for room boundary interactions.

2. Improved web page - I don't know if it needs to be "slicker", but easy access to the needed information would be great. Please include frequency response graphs for your subs - ground plane or anechoic.

Other: I would like to see you use FTC rated amplification and a model using a passive radiator for less distortion. Position Feedback would be ideal.

The reason I chose these is because I feel them would provide HSU Research with a better variety, thus increasing their market potential. There is always a market for these more specialized subwoofer styles. I know that when I begin piecing together my home theater system, I will want to have a nice selection of finishes and features availble.
