What is your favorite finish on a loudspeaker and why?

I like the darker woods. They also need to match the furniture and decor of the room. They are, in fact, a piece of furniture and should be treated as such.

Speaker Finishes

Oh I have always been a fan of classic black. Not to say a cherry wood finish isn't nice, but to me, when I think audio equipment or speakers, I think of big black boxes. Simple, yet elegant.

I like the satin black because it won't show the dirt as easily

Cherry

Cherry is my favorite because the majority of my furniture is cherry, but any dark stained wood is my preference.

Favorite finish

My Favorite finish is piano black.
I think it matched up with most of my A/V
rack equipment witch is visable in my setup.

Black, because it fits in with everything, even if I have to change furniture.

Contest Question: What is your favorite finish on a loudspeaker and why?

Gloss Black. They look more refined IMO.

Rosewood or Cherry. To me, black is too sterile and doesn't match a non-modern decor.

Followed by blonde woods like maple.

Piano/gloss black would be my favorite for sure.

Something ageless and classy about it.

If a speaker is MDF.... therefore veneer then black...
If it's "real" wood ... then....I can't afford it and should be the colour the person who bought it liked!!!!!:D

I would have to say a black finish is my favorite, but a lot of it depends on the room you place them in. My media room is painted black and black speakers are the best for my setup.

Cherry real wood finish. In my opinion, it's rich, classy looking and can match many decorations.

Oak is my favorite wood finish for speakers. It matches my furniture.

Cherry due to the WAF factor, looks more like fine furniture and is very versatile in multiple rooms (when you move etc.).

black looks more sophisticated.

I find technology comes in a couple of colours and that's dark grey and black.
Weird eh!
