Emotiva build quality, objectively?

Yes I like the build of the 5 channel over the mono amp http://www.outlawaudio.com/products/2200.html.. and the 5000 is underrated in power to begin with.. no fluffed numbers I do wish they made a beefy 200x2 amp like the 5000 indeed
According to the AH review, the 5000 puts out maybe 170WPC for 2 channels!
I know I have recommended it several times for someone looking for a good 2 channel amp. At $600, I don't know of a better amp (pro audio excepted, of course), even if you never use the other 3 channels, and I like the idea that you could re-purpose it to drive 5 channels later in life as your needs change. It has flexibility that way!

Outlaw Model 5000 is one of the amps I like. The bigger amp I am looking at is the Monolith 5 channel. I don’t need an amp currently but those are the 2 I would look at. Also a dedicated 15A or 20A circuit from my breaker box.... :)

Outlaw 5000 plus no trigger so at least another $60 plus. Emotiva 2 channelwith trigger $400. I only need 2 channels at present. Maybe more later.

BTW my new avatar should say “new stereo?”

I don't have any Emo amps, but I do have a pre-amp and DAC.

These are definitely well built electronics. The aesthetics and the chassis are nothing to write home about, likely save a few bucks there, but I'm good with non-flashy gear.'

They are not statement pieces, so they won't have that level of build quality, but the separates are better built and better components than any commodity AVR on the market.

Now, if it matters to you (and it's a moot point for a power amp), the remote controls for the Emo are extremely well built and much nicer than you would expect at these price points.

No trigger? I'm running an Outlaw 5000 attached to a Denon X4400h with a trigger cable, and it turns on/off with the AVR no problem.

I have an XDA1 that just simply hasn't been used in a year, and pair of mono amps that are used daily. All 3 were bought in 2011 and have otherwise been used regularly since purchase with zero issues!

My mistake, Outlaw 5000 DOES have a trigger it’s Crown that does not. Sorry.

Crown XLS gen 2 series has triggers also, just not the same type as the usual consumer amp....

What kind does it have? The Xls 15xx series has none that I was able to find out about. What triggers it?

An easy cheat is most 120 volt outlets for your home air conditioners are on a dedicated line. That's why I took out my air conditioner in the music room and used it to power my equipment.. Also surgical grade outlets way better than standard outlets. And yes Home Depot sells them . easy way to find out if that line is a dedicated line is to plug lights in every outlet in the room you are going to use.. And start flipping breakers off to see what powers what. If you flip the air conditioner breaker and only that light goes out. you have a dedicated line

No air conditioners down south ??? Most homes have a dedicated line already and most often is the one with highest amp rated breaker.. Just spend some time and look and you could save some $$$$
