Speaking of EVs, Update on my 2024 Kia EV9 - back in late last December, the car was at the dealer for a week getting ICCU replaced, and now it's back to the same dealer getting HV battery replaced and some unrelated recall.
In the last 9 years, I leased or owned 4 other cars - 2015 Subaru Outback XT, 2018 Subaru Outback XT, 2018 Honda Accord EX-L, 2021 Honda Passport EX-L(I still own the Accord - love it) - None of these cars has any serious mechanical issues related to driving in their first 3 years or in the case of the Accord in their 9 years... Granted I don't have that many miles, but the same applies to KIA - yet in a short 1.5 years, I had two MAJOR driving-related faults with the car. And here I was delusional that EV cars are relatively simple and with much less moving parts should've been much more reliable. Ugg.
One of my kids' karate dojo parents leasing a fancy pants BMW i7 xDrive60 ($124k list)- he's at the dealer with repairs even more often than me.
