It would have a range better than 150 mi if the body had an aerodynamic shape. But it's a Bronco.
That and weigh most likely, plus it is tall. 80kW battery, which is decent, but it is 3 separate packs placed in various areas because the body is built similar to original spec. People that can afford to buy it probably aren't looking for excellent range because it is a leisure car.

*Edit - they also build a gas version.

Looks like they put their next project online too. $250k...

The good news is we picked up this 2024 CPO Ariya Engage+ (87Kwh) eForce (AWD) with 12K+ miles for $22,000 before taxes/title/registration on the 21st. This is the wife's car.

Also drove the Ionic 5 and EV6. The Ariya had better cabin packaging, whilst the performance metrics went to the Hyundai / Kia products.

The Ariya doesn't have the DC fast charge rates like the Korean counter parts but 99% of our charging will be at home off the Dryer circuit.

The bad news. Wife totaled my Lexus that I picked up last July this past Thursday:

Still car shopping then I guess. Congrats and sorry.

This weekend, with just 480 mi on my 2026, it threw the "check electrical system" error and would not drive. This is supposedly related to the recall that occurred in 2025 WTH? Recall is a year old, why would a new model have the same issue? Anyway, I called them on the included Bluelink, their version of "On Star", and either they did something or it reset itself, but the car is fine now.

I saw on the Ion Ioniq forums that you can yank the battery cable to reset the car and it will go away if it was not actual failure. Not exactly a good thing, but at least a possible fix in a pinch.

Is this the ICCU issue? I had that in the back of my mind also with Kia/Hyundai. They want these incredibly fast DC charge rates with their 800V platforms but that is a lot of current handling.
I'll let you know how it goes with the Ariya.

It's ruined me on ICE vehicles. Just no comparison.

I know one thing to watch for on the Ariya is the 12V battery giving out in the next 18 months and to replace it with a quality AGM cell battery. But if it does go it will be a warranty claim.

The recall for the ICCU is 2 years old. My 24 already did not have it, which they told me when I took it in for the recall. If the ICCU fails, it will not drive at all and I would expect they'd be smart enough to not issue a car with an issue that is under recall lol. ICCU issue happed to two of my friends in their 25s though (EV9, Ioniq 5)

There is a second issue that there was a recall for at the same time as the ICCU, similar to what you're saying for the Arya. It does not properly charge the 12V battery and it dies, but this car is brand new. That battery can't be more than a few months old. Plus, after the car was reset, it has not been an issue.

What kills me is I just changed the Transfluid (3x drain and fill), the coolant, the rear-diff, and bled the brake lines.
Like my old 04 WRX. I had put $8k into it, which is about what it was worth. Then the dealer totaled it while working on it.

Yeah; I know those feelings as well. Dumped a bunch of money into my VW Alltrack, wheels/tires, tune, stereo, maintenance and then got it totaled due to hail.

I’m still hem and hawing about our next car. A used EV is still high on the list, but so is a Mazda CX-50 hybrid and possibly a Mitsubishi outlander PHEV (if I can find one to test drive.

In the Mitsu the Yamaha stereo is supposed to really well optimized.

That's my one complaint with my Subaru. It has a Harmon Kardon branded stereo but it's the worst sounding system that I've had in almost 20 years. Too bright and fatigues the ears. I just wish manufacturers provided more than 3 bands of EQ. If it had a ten band EQ I might be able to improve things but not with basic bass / mid / treble controls.

The XRT came with a Bose system :D It gets pretty darn loud, but I would not say it sounds spectacular.

In general, factory audio is much better than it was 30 years ago. Factory speakers were pure crap. Our 2005 Ford Freestyle was the first vehicle where I saw no need to upgrade. It had a sub in the rear and 6 disc changer and sounded pretty good. Our 2012 Cherokee also has a sub in the back and sounds pretty decent. Those both have good size interiors. Maybe I should have bought something bigger? :D

Let's agree to disagree. I drove two Outbacks with Harmon systems, and both sound great to me. I do agree on having more bands on EQ (or even better a proper PEQ) would be nice.

Speaking of EVs, Update on my 2024 Kia EV9 - back in late last December, the car was at the dealer for a week getting ICCU replaced, and now it's back to the same dealer getting HV battery replaced and some unrelated recall.
In the last 9 years, I leased or owned 4 other cars - 2015 Subaru Outback XT, 2018 Subaru Outback XT, 2018 Honda Accord EX-L, 2021 Honda Passport EX-L(I still own the Accord - love it) - None of these cars has any serious mechanical issues related to driving in their first 3 years or in the case of the Accord in their 9 years... Granted I don't have that many miles, but the same applies to KIA - yet in a short 1.5 years, I had two MAJOR driving-related faults with the car. And here I was delusional that EV cars are relatively simple and with much less moving parts should've been much more reliable. Ugg.

One of my kids' karate dojo parents leasing a fancy pants BMW i7 xDrive60 ($124k list)- he's at the dealer with repairs even more often than me.

With EVs, when they break, they BREAK is the problem. I had ZERO issues with my 2024 Ioniq 5 in 2 years.

The BMW IX3 just won world EV of the year.

Man... My 2010 Kia Borrego, 4.6L, ZF transmission in July of 19'

$10K used with 32K miles. Replaced a starter. Got tboned last July and got ~$8500 back.

6 years, moved house with it (vs $14K movers quote) and it rode better and the audio sounded better, than I had any right too.

Just a straight up simple design.

My current lease is up in October and was thinking of an electric 7-series SUV. Are you talking about the electric or gas model?
