It's mindblowing the way they act there - almost as if A. Hitler is running the show...anyone with an ounce of insight will never support that bunch, nor believe the schrott they post as "administers" and "super moderators", but there's always ignorant folk.

The way they have banned people is just freakish...absolutely no regard for anything - they want to totally wipe the place off and start with a fresh bunch of "followers" ... i wonder if it would happen...
The damage this company has created amongst their customers, consumers and the audio community/industry is just too much to overcome. The majority of TADG's errr AV123's success was because of viral hype (which acted as a smoke screen) of their products and consistent public damage control which would spin issues and try to put them in good light. It is the complete opposite now. Also take into consideration company cash flow problems, manufacturing problems as well as lead designers publically saying they will not design anything more for the company. It is very difficult, actually I would say impossible for this company to have successful stategic objectives for marketing, investment, poductivity and growth without completely amputating the gangrene first. Whats going on there is a complete joke IMO, a laughing stock if you will.

As an old saying goes "A **** Leopard Can't Change Its Spots".

Oh but somehow we're (Audioholics and anyone else that has spoken out against this) the bad guys in all this according to some.:D

I just created a thread over at AV321. Do you think that this will get me banned? Anyone giving odds? How long with the thread last?

http://forums.av123.com/showthread.php?p=760784#post760784

Are the Strata Mini center and surounds still being worked on?

I bought a set of the Strata Mini’s 3 years ago with the idea that I could get the matching center and surounds that were in the works. Now that it’s 3 years later, I’m still waiting. Are these still in the works, or have they been completely dropped and forgotten about?

probably won't get banned for that one, BUT i won't guarantee any useful, swift answers, either.

So, just ignored then? I'll mark you down for that. (I'm betting you'll win the pool)

There was some concept art for a Strata Mini extreme or something similiar though I have yet to see surrounds or center concepts.

Even if they came out with a whole line of Strata stuff I still wouldn't touch that company with a 10ft pole.

The centers and surrounds were in the works 3 years ago. I have no delusions that they will ever come to be at this point. I just wanted to see how my thread would be taken over there.

My god! It's a super moderator! Probably endowed with super powers and can only be defeated by a mutant moderator or an ultra mega moderator.
Also you can not PM him. He refuses to accept PMs. So he can come on the thread and scold people then run and hide.

Yes, quite interesting to read in general. I wonder what he truly expects in return for turning the blind eye towards Shifty during this whole situation?
I recall one of his posts some time back in a thread that's long since deleted where he spoke about how he was looking to get his company involved in some sort of project that Schifter was working on. I think he said something to the effect that the timing of the indictment was unfortunate and cryptically suggested that Schifter had access to some imminent funding which would enable AV451 to get back on its feet again. Undoubtably Dane was made privy to some correspondence from some lawyers out in California talking about a disbursement of funds from an Estate.

The funny thing is, this is the same letter, more or less, that Schifter was sending to everyone he owed monies to including I think his 'brother' Santiago. Each person thought they were the only recipient of this letter and each person was urged to keep the matter private and not share the contents with anyone. Now, while there really was an estate, and there really was going to be money doled out according to the courts, Schifter wasn't the only beneficiary. It turns out there were some others too and as fate would have it, Schifter had also borrowed money from the intended beneficiaries which had to be repaid to them out of his cut. While that still left a reasonable amount of money, beneficiaries of the estate weren't the only ones who found out about this matter and they in turn pressed their claims against what was left of Schifter's cut, effectively leaving him with not enough to buy toilet paper.

Dane, should consider himself lucky for not pressing forward more vigorously with his employer. As to why, even at this late stage, he could not figure out that Schifter was using him too, I don't know. Maybe he saw the glass as half full when he should've realized there was no glass at all.

Oh but somehow we're (Audioholics and anyone else that has spoken out against this) the bad guys in all this according to some.:D
Well, Matt, it's OK to speak out, but one should only speak out once and even then there are certain guidelines that need be followed. Having said one's peace, they should let matters evolve or devolve as they may without further comment.

Anyone check out dontshiftermebro lately? Looks like it has upset someone and got hit with a spam army lol. I can't imagine some random spammer would put that much effort into a site that sees so little traffic.

wish there was a way to PM all av123forum members (esp. innocent newbies) with a few links to online newspapers carrying MLS's arrest story and the pdf of the indictment :)

idk: perhaps that's a mean thought...

Hard to know. A guy I know runs a small audio forum with very little traffic that was getting spammed like crazy. His forum was using the Simple Machines Forum 1.1.11 software, same as what DSMB uses. That release version is in maintenance mode, so there's no new features being added. One important feature it's almost completely lacking is anti-spamming measures. The guy I mentioned above fixed his spamming problem by upgrading to Simple Machines Forum 2.0 Release Candidate 3, which is plenty stable and has good anti-spam measures. So if the DSMB admin is reading this, I'd suggest that as a potential solution.

I run a very small forum myself using this software, so I'm familiar with administration of it and can offer help if needed.

That's pretty funny Matt! Well, I hope Shifty is reading it because now that he' no longer taking nitro, all that Viagra & Cialis will do him some good when he goes to prison.

I was curious what would be the first few items to come up if someone was to do a search on AV123 or Mark Schifter, hoping this thread (or others like it) would be towards to top of the search for new customers to see. Unfortunately, it's all fluff at the top. This is kind of funny though, if you do a Google search and type in Mark Schifter, wait for the results page come up and then backspace in the search bar until you just have "Mark Schift" (delete the "er") and see what google "suggests" for your search results.;)

FYI - I use Firefox, but it should be the same either way using google I'd think.

I just googled "Mark Schifter" with quotations, and the first link was a Stereophile article titled the Ascent of Mark Schifter. The second and third links were of his indictment.

Yes. Correct. My thoughts linked me back to that thread, so I thought I'd pop in to post about it - but, see you remembered. I wonder if Dane's company is still thinking of proceeding with these "electronic devices" that they desire to sell VA321? Dane might find himself up for a big promotion to CIO. Yup, CIO = Career Is Over !!!

If anyone saved that particular post, could they please cut and paste it here?
