Denon AVR speakers setting

In my bedroom system with the Denon S960H AVR, shall I set my mains as small or large? Speakers are Ascend CMT-340 which have dual 6.5" woofers.

Oh yeah... and the center! You can see what it is below. Heights and surrounds, leave as small I imagine.

Small just means use bass management. Large means full range. If you have a sub generally its recommended to set them to small and start with a xover of 80hz

Yes, the AVR uses Audesey. Did that several months ago. Does Audesey set speaker size too?

Technically it’s set by the denon. Are you using a sub?

Yes, two 10" Klipsches.

Audyssey's own recommendation is 80hz/small to start, Denon ignores that and provides their own recommendation.

Which model is it ? I have my front towers set to 60’or 80 hz and they go down to 38hz.
It doesn’t add more bass to run full range and double bass I tried .

Yes, two 10" Klipsches.

Which model ? I should had got one back when they made downfiring I’d have to go Martin Logan now for that.

Just because they are 8" in diameter doesn't mean a lot. What was the suggested crossover from Denon? I'd be mostly concerned with localization with subs over individual speakers/crossovers.

It's a Crites CSC-1. Here's a couple shots of it. I really like it a lot. Sounds extremely clear. It may not be congruent with my mains, but the system sounds fantastic to me. The subs are front-firing 300 watt units. I do have a down-firing 10" Klipsch in another room.

My set up has big mains and center plus 2 additional subs. Tried both small and large settings and found the large setting had a fuller sound. Experiment to find out. Most AVRs also have crossover filters to set which lower frequencies are sent to the mains.
