Have you guys seen any new modules for the Onkyo, Integra and Integra Research Modular Recievers/Processors?
Summary: kicks butt - not cheap. Click here for pics and details.Jake said:Hello Gene. I hope that you will review the new black screen technology SCREEN INNOVATIONS " MIRAGE SCREEN" specifically. I am interested in just how great this technology really is in bringing front projection out of completely dark rooms.
They had the same stuff as last year but in pretty colors.smulth said:how bout nht.
Now, that is exactly what I wanted to see. Now, I can tell BMXtrix, that ambient light won't kill contrast (J/K BMX).Clint DeBoer said:Summary: kicks butt - not cheap. Click here for pics and details.
It is uncertain how this screen will perform (contrast and black levels) in light-controlled situations, so we're hoping to get a unit in for review shortly after they start shipping.

because you know I saw this
"Screen sizes from 60" - 100" (4:3) or 60" - 120" (16:9) in 1" increments"
Denon already has an Audyssey fix. The problem is it didnt upload correctly on my test unit. I am having Denon ship me a new 5805 with it uploaded but unfortunately I will be relocating next month and won't have our primary test lab built until late November. In all likelyhood we wont be able to verify its effectiveness until December. However, if Denon sends Clint a review sample of a AVR-4806 before then, you can be sure he will also put it through its paces. What about the long awaited firmware update for the 5805 to fix the Audyssey issue that has been ongoing forever?
Someone else found that after the update it didn't fix the problem for them either-the Audyssey results are less than flattering.
Guess we have to wait until you get your new unit for a definitive answer.Well guys, my Denon 5805 journey has officially ended. My Denon is up for sale. I finally got around to checking to see if the new firmware was working. I used my DD18 OSD to check the the Audyssey curve before and after. I was suprised to find the the curve was smoother w/ Audyssey OFF . By turning the EQ on the low end response was much worse. The difference beteen the two was not small. Combine this w/ the fact that Audyssey is cranking my center channel treble levels resulting in a bright sound and I have no choice but to move on.
As Gene said, the Audyssey fix is already available, but the firmware update will also include the Audyssey update for those that haven't gotten it yet.Spero D. said:Why don't they priortise that to come on October 1st, and I hope without an additional charge.
Kinda of silly to sell this unit b/c of one feature not working as expected. As I mentioned before to someone using the 5805 with a Velodyne DD18 sub, the Velodyne Software will likely yield much better results than Audyssey for bass correction. The receiver is still killer regardless. I will get to the bottom of this, even if it kills meCombine this w/ the fact that Audyssey is cranking my center channel treble levels resulting in a bright sound and I have no choice but to move on.
