Can you name this LCR speaker… again? (original lost in AH crash)

Seriously, I have no life.
Got a second look and quite positive now that it's this speaker. Any opinions?

Bass extension to 24 Hz seems like a fantasy.
I have a very low opinion of def.Tech gear. The spec. of that speaker says 24 Hz to 30,000 Hz, but you don't know that it isn't 100 db. down at 24 Hz. So the FR spec. is totally meaningless and therefore useless. That is a company that should be avoided at all costs.

UPDATE: Not longer after hearing these speakers, I decided they were not very good. The two ceiling speakers as fine as surround, but these did not cut it as fronts, so I have them removed and sold them.

So now I am still hunting for the ideal replacement.

Should I just get better in-walls, or drywall the holes and get a passive soundbar?

Decent in-walls seem to break the bank for me (over $2k/pair) so here are some passive soundbars I'm considering.

The Klipsch bar was $2600 so I'll go with anything around that price and lower

Sure, that's a start! The room is a challenge, Open concept ground floor. 55" on an 8 foot wall with a damned gas fireplace on the left.

I should add that the maximum cavity space between studs is 34” high × 9.125” width × 3.5” deep

Okay one sec do you happen to have a Pic of the entire room? Is that the only spot you can set up gear in that room. That's a very difficult spot for any in wall speaker to sound good especially with that heater to your left. Phantom center imaging would be a nightmare

For 2600 max budget I would rather go with floor standers and a center channel in that spot are you open to this? If not I'll be back in about an hour with some options for in wall speakers but if that's the only workable location I'd recommend some good towers and a good center channel instead for 2600 you can get some great deals

Floorstanders couldn't be easier as that's what I have now :)

… but trying to improve the WAF a bit… also these only sound great when brought forward to the carpet. So a bit awkard. Plus I sold the center.

I'm not surprised they only sounded good out to the carpet those corners on the left with the heater then open to the right but then on the right side all those reflections from that pantry area with the glass on the fridges and wine rack and then that marble top would be an acoustic challenge on your first reflections how far back are you sitting by the way in that picture with those speakers

Can you also give me a Pic of the back of the room? Sorry need to see the whole room to get some ideas

Ok so first thoughts

If we go with in walls you will need to purchase a center channel honestly you'd need a center channel with towers those speakers are too close together to do good imaging you'll need a center to help with this and to help with output as it looks like your sitting a good distance back

How's your sub situation because at those distances your going to need a sub minimum to route the lfe to take the burden of any speakers carrying the full range your just sitting to far back for that

When you said 34 inches high on your studs is their a reason for that is their a stud running crosswise that limits your height?

Because your going to need some pretty potent in wall speakers to be able to give you good spl at your seated position if your sitting that far back

Is their anyway to rearrange the setup? Or does WAF dictate you need to have it setup in that corner specifically

The second ones the THX 465IW's are my top pick they are on sale just $1200 a pair plenty of left over coin for subs and a center channel
