Can I use a 4 ohm subwoofer with a 6 ohm AVR?

I recently bought the Sony STR-AN1000 that says to use speakers with a nominal impedance of 6 ohms to 16 ohms. I also have two very old Klipsch KSW-150 powered Subwoofers that appear to rated at 4 ohms.

Can I use both my 4 ohm subwoofers with my new AVR? Are there any cautions or issues to be aware of?

The powered subwoofers have their own internal amplifier and is not what the manual of the receiver refers to.

So can I safely connect them? I don't see any other references to the impedance of the speaker itself.

Yes, that should be the case whether you use speaker or line level input on the subwoofers.

The AVR does not "see" the impedance of the subs since they are not powered by it.
