Found a set of Crown XTI 2002 amps for sale on FB Marketplace for 800$ for the set. I offered 650$ for them, and he countered at 700$. I was thinking about getting them to power my LCR speakers.

Can you take advantage of the balanced inputs with your pre-amp? Don't believe that model has unbalanced/rca inputs, could be a level issue accordingly. Also a fan noise issue (don't know particularly how noisy the fans are on that model). Good amps, tho with a fair amount of dsp options (which likely you won't use).

Yes, my pre pro has full 13.3 XLR inputs.

This poster said they bought these Fyne Audio F703 speakers 3 1/2 weeks ago but is selling because they are leaving the hobby after 40 years. Huh? That was a quick turnabout! I would like to hear what these ex Tannoy engineers created but $10.5K (down from $14K) is just a tad too dear for the sake of curiosity... Good looking speakers, though.

Just a tad! Lol

They are some mighty fine looking speakers tho. Concentric mid/tweet I'm assuming?

I used to drool over those at my local shop. Would probably grab them just for nostalgia sake.
Do you know who was the first company to use that style tweeter on top? Seems B&W is the only major manufacturer that stuck with that design.

Yup! It seems once a speaker designer goes that route, they continue with it. Andrew Jones worked on ‘em at KEF and brought the concept to TAD and then Elac. These Fyne folks took what they knew (concentric mid/tweets) from Tannoy and are developing their own.

Super nice looking speakers. Guaranteed the poster got those for less than 10.5K and is looking to make a little money.

For those still dreaming of Legacy speakers, these Classic HD would make a great front stage. Only 8 months old so asking C$7800 ($6180) which is not that bad actually with the centre.

Wow, yeah. Those look nice! I know that's a good price for clean Legacys. Especially with the matching center.

So what do you think these are? It say Custom Speakers on the Ad but nothing else. No grills. Look kind of interesting? Or Trash ? :) Looks like there are holes for grills. Not sure if that is easy to DIY?

If it's DIY and they can't tell you which drivers they used and which commercial plans they followed, it's trash.

Does look DIY but you need to know what drivers are in there to know the value. They don't look particularly special. Compare that to these Selah Audio Vigores. Very good speakers and looks like he did a really nice job on the cabs as well.

Very tempted by these Monitor Audio Gold 200. The 200 is the smaller brother of the 300 and I only have room for small towers any way. Gorgeous finish on these. This is the 4G model so a few years old. The bolts on the back connect to the drivers to increase rigidity. Golds are usually outside of my price range but the $3250 is 40% of the $8000 retail so he's in the right ball park. Might be hard to find the matching centre though.

Ohhh, now those do look gorgeous! Those would be really hard for me to pass up if I were shopping and they're in budget! MA Gold are getting up there to top of the line.

Haha :D.... Looked at the history. Previous owner sold them last January asking $3300. Stated the retail price at $6895. Not sure where this guy got the $8000 from. Still, $3250 is reasonable for their condition. Ad says that he likes them so much that he wants to move up to platinums o_O. Just outside of Montreal so about 7 hrs away by car.

From the previous ad:
"The Retail price for most finishes in the Gold 200 was $5695.00, but the Gloss Ebony was $1200.00 more: $6895.00 (plus tax = $7791.35)
You can have this practically new pair for only $3300.00. (no tax)"

He's being a little liberal with the retail cost. Long drive there and back and gas is expensive. Might offer $3000.

Less than half price still. Of all speaker brands I've always had admiration for Monitor Audio and their Silver series and up. I know those Golds are excellent speakers man. A 7 hour drive? I might do it... I just might. As long as the seller reassured me they're in good looking and working condition I just might plan the drive...

I'm gonna back away slowly now and stop influencing you... :p

Rick's stuff was pretty legit.
The monitor I found had SB/Satori and Scan Speak Drivers, but that tweeter doesn't look like the Be Tweet. The mid looks correct (Satori). Cannot visually identify the Woofers.
