Kingdom of Heaven 4K ATMOS comes out tomorrow 5/27, but my brother already has the 4K UHD.

Glad that it gets 4K Video and ATMOS sound.

I've only seen about 30 minutes of the newly restored/remastered 4K version, but my first impression is that the PQ & SQ are kind of similar to the Roadshow 1080p DTS-HD MA version, which is already pretty great. :D

I just didn't get that awe and shock factor like when I first saw "Se7en 4K" and "Con Air 4K", which I would give 5-Star for Video Quality.

Blu-ray.com gave "King of Heaven 4K ATMOS" 5-Star for both Video and Audio, but based on what I've seen, I would give it 4.5-Star for both Video and Audio. :D

Does your brother have a K-Scape? Unless the version you saw was from K scape or the actual new 4K disc, all other potential 4k editions won’t be in the same ballpark as the disc or K-scape. A couple reviewers I follow who have the discs already, gave it very good remarks. One giving 5/5 for both video and audio. Disney did put it on a 100gig disc so that’s a huge plus. Bit rates should be high, which will be nice. :)

He has the actual discs. So uncompressed. I think just the movie w/ only TrueHD-ATMOS (removed all other soundtracks) was almost 80GB.

There's no release or date announced for Con Air in 4k that I'm aware of. Supposedly it, Armageddon and The Rock all have had 4k transfers done now though, so it should be just a matter of time.

The bits of Kingdom of Heaven 4k I sampled looked pretty good to me. I didn't see the typical bit of softness you get from older 1080p movies being upsampled. Although the HDR did not present in a "blow you away" style like some do. Overall, I thought it looked quite nice.

57 Mbit for the video stream on the UHD.

I will be looking forward to the actual Con Air 4K UHD disc and The Rock 4K, hoping that The Rock 4K will look as awesome as Con Air 4K.

Yeah, “Kingdom 4K” looks great (I give 4.5 Star for video), and I am sure the restored 4K “Kingdom” looks better than the 2K BD. But just didn’t have that “blow me away - Wow” effect.

Would you give the video of “Kingdom 4K” a 5 Star, meaning among the best you’ve seen? :D

Anyway, Kingdom of Heaven is one of my favorites, so I will be watching it every year. :D

No. Probably not. It's not the most eye-catching 4k presentation I've ever seen. It may be quite good for a more subtle, older movie transfer though. I was mostly commenting about it in regards to your 1080p comparison. I did see things that suggested to me that it is clearly a step up from an upsample.

It's also one of my favorites. I'll be giving the 4k a proper watch at some point coming up I'm sure.

I probably saw some film grain, which reminded me of the 1080p.

But I am grateful for this Kingdom of Heaven 4K Atmos. :D

From what I've found, they actually got the original negative for this cut and gave it the 4k upgrade. So, no 2k to 4k upscale. Picture will look amazing compared to any previous version. Of course I watch 99.99% of movies on projector, so only get HDR10. Which is great but would also like to check out the Dolby vision. I know a good number of reviewers view their movies on OLED's so they can get the best possible picture. So, the reviewers that I follow that gave it 5/5 for picture watched on calibrated OLED's.

hahah gross! ZERO DNR! Acu can go hang out with the Disney team that did the Pirates of the Caribbean 4k remaster. :) That team loves DNR!
Haha.

I just finished watching the 3HR Kingdom of Heaven 4K Atmos.

PQ is excellent. Some film grains, but very detailed and clean.

SQ is solid. Some good use of overhead sound. Very nice.

Very glad to finally have this movie in 4K Atmos.
