Glad I'm not an Eagles fan.The Vick thing has me ill....![]()
The Eagles will hold a news conference on Friday morning to announce his signing. The first year of the deal is for $1.6 million with an option for the second year at $5.2 million. Vick can also earn an additional $3 million in incentives over the two years of the contract.Just heard about the vick news in this thread. Any details on the contract? Seems to me the Eagles have a talented team already?I hope they didn't make a second mistake in overpaying him.
5.2 is waaaaaaaay to much in the 2nd year. I guess this signing would make sense if Donovan gets hurt but honestly Vicks style of QB does not fit the Eagles offense. Vick is not an accurate passer (below average in the NFL IMO) and the Eagles rely heavily on the passing game. Sure you can run the wildcat but it undermines their most important part of their offense - Michael Westbrook. The Eagles will hold a news conference on Friday morning to announce his signing. It's really not that outrageous of a deal when you consider that most years of NFL contracts are not guaranteed. It provides a great incentive for Vick to behave himself and to work very hard to fit in and be a good corporate citizen. One slip up, however, and it's just as easy to cut him.5.2 is waaaaaaaay to much in the 2nd year. 5.2...lol
I say sometime before the end of the year Vick starts a few games.I personally don't see Vick as a starting QB in the league anymore.
Anything is possible. For now it doesn't even matter, he's still on indefinite suspension and hasn't played competitive football for 2+ years. The terms of his resinstatement allow him to be picked up by a team and start to practice, but I don't think he'll be eligible until week 7 at the earliest.I say sometime before the end of the year Vick starts a few games.
Quoted from below,It will be intersting on how McNabb handles this situation with Vick.

I personally don't see Vick as a starting QB in the league anymore. I could see the Eagles using him as a hybrid HB/WR/QB in the backfield along with Westbrook.
LOL, Im not going to get sucked into that debate. It like debating politics or religion, at the end of the day you dont get anywhere and you feel a whole lot dirtier.Really?![]()
Honestly, I doubt they've lost any fans. Would you really stop rooting for your favorite team if they signed Vick? I might not be all that happy at first, and maybe I'd boo the guy, but if he spent two years acting like a model player and helping the team win games, I'd probably warm towards him by the end. I certainly would not stop rooting for my team in the interim....I am sure they have also lost a lot of fans through this decision.
Yeah because Marino had so much talent around him.QBs are generally judged by the number of rings they've won, which is one of the reasons why Dan Marino received so much crap over the years because despite the stats, he never won anything. Nobody gave the same crap to Barry Sanders, Steve Largent, Derrick Thomas, or **** Butkus (all guys who never won anything) b/c they're not QBs.
I thought it was Romo with his little pinky finger hurt.I agree with Darien that TO is a cancer and literally ruined the cowboys season last year with his antics.
I dont think so, if at all anything he makes them a better team. He gives a extra dimension to the offense. Also as a Giants fan Im not to thrilled that we get to see him twice a year.I am sure they have also lost a lot of fans through this decision.
