Percy Harvin fits Brett Farve's style. I would not expect Percy Harvin to try to attack the safties to much. Percy Harvin would be best utilzed in the short passing game something Brett Farve excels at. I can see him wrapping up a lot of receiving yards this year. What I do agree with is that it will be tough to get the ball to him in the red zone with a short field. He is the equivalent to the next Hines Ward and Steve Smith in my opinion which are some of the best wr's in the league along with the taller receivers such as Andre Johnson and Plaxico Burress (who looks like will be suspended for the year).

I forgot to mention he will also be featured in a wildcat type offense occasionally. So there is a lot of potential for rushing yards, and depending how successfull there offense is maybe even a few throws :D .

As long as Childress is running the show, it doesn’t matter who plays what position – it will be another season of no playoff hopes for the Vikes :(
You guys made the playoffs last year and you still have the best running back on the field. Barry put Detroit in the playoffs. AP will keep you guys in them.

And Childress is better than the coach in Dallas. :(

From a fantasy perspective it definitely makes the Vik's offense more desirable. AP will get more running room, and the WR will get better (alteast better then what the Vik's have now) chances to score. I by no means am a fan of Farvre, but I think he makes them a better team. The Vik's are a team that need to win soon, and with AP in his prime there is no better time.

It's all business....
I think Favre will crash hard. It will be like Johnny Unitas in Sand Diego.

He was a great QB, but he's gone. He's not what he was he should have stayed retired.

I don't find Childress all that bad. I would take him over the likes of Norv Turner, **** Jauron and Wade Phillips

Justice System is a joke

this in my view is ridiculous and violates Burress Constitutional right to bear arms. 2 years is cruel and unusual in my estimation.
As a gun owner, I am all about my right to carry arms, however I made sure to get my firearms properly registered. Thats my main beef with Plex, he should have registered his firearm.

Bloomberg is a-hole when it comes down to gun rights, and the laws on the books here are ridiculous. I cant even bring/transport a paintball marker within NYC.

I feel bad for Plex, he shoots himself, 2 years. Dante Stallworth kills a man, and gets 30 days. What a joke.

The guy ran out in front of Stallworth on a damn highway he had no business being on. It wasn't in a crosswalk even. The media sensationalized it because he had a few beers. If it had been clearly his fault he'd have gotten a lot more.

Still you'd think that'd be worse than shooting yourself.

Why a player is driving at night after drinking is beyond me though. I'd have a cab or limo at least. :)

You have a constitutional right to take a loaded concealed unlicensed weapon into a club and have it go off? Please enlighten me on how the 2nd ammendment can be interpreted that way. From the ESPN article this morning:

The gun was not licensed in New York or in New Jersey, where Burress lived, prosecutors said. His license to carry a concealed weapon in the state of Florida had expired in May 2008.

The charges were for two counts of criminal possession of a weapon and one count of reckless endangerment. I believe it's the reckless endangerment (the gun going off in a public place) that's getting him in the most trouble.

Most importantly, Plax has been trying to get out of this thing for almost a year now! At the time I remember reading something that all the DA wanted was for him to serve 12 months probation with community service, but Plax kept asking for continuances and putting off the trial date, and of course mouthing off about how he did nothing wrong and was going to get off, that he ended up pissing everybody off- the DA, grand jury, and judge.

All he had to do was come forward after the incident and admit his wrong-doing, and I'd bet he'd never be going to jail.

Quick edit- everybody who lives/works/plays in NYC knows that the city has some of the strictest gun laws on record. My lawyer friend was telling me that for Plax's crime the minimum he could have gotten was 18 months in jail. Whether you agree or disagree on principle, those are the laws on the books and you have to obey them.

Stallworth was also high in addition to having been drinking- but I agree wtih you on this case... the guy was crossing a major highway (I-95) where there was bad lighting, no traffic light/crosswalk, and no inkling for a driver that anybody would EVER try to cross the road.

Stallworth got off easier, however, because of an interesting application of Florida law. It basically states that if you are driving drunk and hit somebody, the judge/jury is allowed to consider whether the accident was because of your impaired driving state or not. In the case of Stallworth, the jury determined (rightly so) that we could have been stone-cold sober and still probably killed that man. That's why he got off so easy.

If I owned a team I would set up a contract with a local car service company for my players to have access to at all times at some preferential rate. Better yet, the league office should set a deal up with car services across the country (huge bargaining power) in every city where the league had franchises for players to use at all times. Then we could finally start writing clauses into contracts such as "If you get caught DUI, your contract is null and void."

I'm pretty sure from the very begining Bloomberg wanted to make an example out of him. I think no matter what, he was always facing jail time. What I understand as the reason the whole thing was delayed was because his lawyer was trying to work out a deal that did not include jail time. This pretty much ends his career.

Bloomberg was more pissed about the cover-up than anything else.

It's the law in NYC that a hospital notify the police whenever they have a gunshot victim. NY Presbyterian Hospital never did that. The police only even found out about the story because Plax had to be put on the injured list. Plax also lied to the hospital workers about where he was that night- he said he was at an Applebee's.

He definitely didnt help the situation by trying to cover it up, he certainly should have come right out and said it, but I dont think it would have changed the outcome. He was going to jail regardless.

Every NFL player already receives a card that has phone numbers for getting them a ride home from various taxi services in any city.

Well I gotta say I like Goddell and wish he ran the NCAA.

If he did Calipari would be suspended and Memphis would be on probation.

LOL

That's funny.

Oh no, Merriman's been contaminated. Now he's gonna be a complete prick like TO. Wait, he's already a jerk, so I hear. My best friend back home is a regional rep for BBQ's Galore. Recently he's been doing set-ups in some Chargers' houses. He met Merriman and said he was a ****. He did Sproles' house, and said that Mighty Mouse was totally cool and humble. :D

What is it with Buffalo and breakfast cereals? Didn't Doug Flutie have Flutie Flakes when he was there too?

Yeah- but there was a good side to that cereal. If I remember correctly, something like half of the profits made from that cereal went to charities related to autism in honor of Doug's son.

I was going to college in upstate NY at that time (Rochester), and Flutie was hugely popular and beloved by almost everybody. People were buying the cereal by the case as a way to show him how much they cared about him and his kid.
