    Hitachi PJ-TX100 LCD Projector Review

I went back and actually read the review. Unfortunately, if there was any measurement of fan noise I missed it. I wouldn't consider that PJ anyway, but if I did it would be mounted directly over my head, and somewhat low compared to many peoples rigs, so noise would be a huge concern for me.

Klipsch for music and Def Tech for HT?

I personally wouldn't pick either of those brands for either purpose, but that's just me. I'll add my agreement to the statement that a good speaker is a good speaker, period. If a speaker is only good for HT and won't do music, avoid that one. Ditto for speakers good only for one genre...

    Hitachi PJ-TX100 LCD Projector Review

Sadly, I quit reading about ten lines in, when I hit the cons: fan noise. It's like the princess-and-the-pea with me. Excessive noise is the ultimate kiss of death. No matter how it looks I can't tolerate a loud PJ. And who's gonna buy or build a hushbox for a $999 pj?

    The most beautiful song.

I couldn't begin to choose just one, but certainly one of the most beautiful songs is Eva Cassidy's version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." Yeah, yeah, I know...that song is just too trite & cheesy to take seriously, right? Well I dare you to listen to her sing it and then say that. No...

    Elite Screens BUYERS BE AWARE!

That wouldn't really help- it's not set wrinkles, it's caused by the way it hangs and the fact that there's insufficient weight on the bottom. Plus, the material is extremely light & thin. True, I never thought of denatured alcohol, but unless it dramatically improved the color, too, it's...

    What should I upgrade first

There is a section here at AH dedicated to Room Acoustics. By this I mean products created to ameliorate problems with sound stemming from room modes, reflections, etc. To this end there are bass traps, diffusors & absorbers. It's no exageration to say I'd rather have a $5,000 system with...

    What should I upgrade first

You didn't mention what you have for acoustic treatment...If the answer is "none," then that's what you have to buy first. You'll get a bigger bang for the buck and much better sound spending $2k on room treatments than spending the same amount on any gear I can think of.

    Elite Screens BUYERS BE AWARE!

I've never rolled mine up. Once I get my Carada I'll probably cut up my Elite and ship the peices around to let a few people look them over. I'm curious if mine is typical of their products.

    Onix x-sub Subwoofer Review

What really blew me away was their SP3 Melody amp. Absolutely stunning for the price. I really didn't have room to set it up permanently, and foolishly I sold it. Now I've moved- in my new place I don't have much room for a dedicated 2CH rig, but if I had the Onix back I'd use it at my PC...

    Onix x-sub Subwoofer Review

You've gotta love Onix/Rocket/AV123!:D Their products always astonish with what they deliver for the money. It boggles the mind when you run your fingers over the immaculately finished cabinet of one of their speakers or pick up one of their amps. Amazing!

Has anyone listened to a group called BOND?

I've heard music from all their albums, I think, and I think they're pretty good. Yes, their "hook" is that they all look like swimwear models & they're marketed on the basis of their hottie factor, but all are highly competent musicians. A bit too "pop" for my tastes, but decent.

    Elite Screens BUYERS BE AWARE!

That's my major gripe, too. "Dirty Sky" syndrome. Sparklies during brightly lit scenes of solid colors. Plus, mine has some blemishes/marks on it that are visible when the PJ is off. Lastly, the material is much thinner than my Da-Lite, and is very wavy/wrinkled.

    Elite Screens BUYERS BE AWARE!

What did you think of the screen material? I only ask because my Elite is a total peice of junk. It was cheap, but even so it was a waste of money.
