The Omnimic is a kinda a toy. I'd instead recommend the recent XTZ System we reviewed.

Matching the system as most people spending this kind of $$$ will want the same aesthetics and finish options. SVS was offered as an alternative. Agreed about the turntable but we stick those in 2CH only systems.

We have recently done a ton of coverage for SVS, MartinLogan, NHT and others and are working on expanding that coverage. If this isn't diversified enough for you, there are plenty of other websites to read. You have stated your position about this many times and quite frankly its time to move on.

Yes we've had great relations with them since the inception of this site over 15 years ago. They are a no nonsense company that places real engineering over marketing and psuedo science. I personally like the company and its staff and of course their products which is why I chose them in my...

Your INSANE! :) You've got some nice gear and it's so hard to get a good value on your resale unfortunately. The T2 will likely have more bass capability than the 8300's but it should be pretty close however the T2/R would definitely outgun the 8300s in that regard especially if you slap a...

Having personally heard both speaker systems various times at trade shows (though not in the same demo room), I'd choose the 8300/R's but your listening preferences may prefer the Salons which are still great speakers and much prettier than the RBH's. BTW the 8300/R's range from $5900/pr to...

    1. If you use bass management of our processor and set the crossover to 40-60Hz, you risk truncating LFE on many products. 2. Double bass can be tricky and cause too much gain in region where towers and subs overlap. Unless you can EQ at least the subs, this can be problematic. 3. Getting the...

RBH Speakers hit the door step today..

Time to sell your Salon2's and step up to a pair of 8300/R's :) The RBH's may not be as pretty but they will definitely give you more output not only in bass but in the midrange. Most companies simply don't get the importance of more piston area in the mids. It's one of the reasons why I'm...

We have several new systems featuring products other than EMP/RBH but it's easier to make false assumptions rather than reading the site.

You could drop the rear speakers and just upgrade the subs to SX-1010/R's. I wouldn't jump to towers unless you're going to SX-8300/R but most people will find it challenging to blend a bass capable tower speaker system with separate powered subs. We try to recommend systems that are less...

    Seattle Campus Shootings

Yes really. If you've ever been there you'd likely agree. Beautiful place and very non threatening. If the "crazy" kid didn't have access to such lethal weaponry in the first place, the severity of the tragedy would have been lessened. Private citizens should NOT be allowed to buy weapons...

Knives can't kill 30-40 people in a matter of minutes like an assault rifle did at Sandy Hook. Really Give me a F'ing break. We really don't need to go there. If you enable even the most sane person with the ultimate hardware they cannot be trusted. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Excuse me, I didn't realize that the NRA and most of the hosts of Fox news are considered psychopaths b/c those are the people claiming we need to be armed to the teeth in case we ever need to overthrow our Government. Thanks for clarifying that. Personally I think anyone that carries around...

    Seattle Campus Shootings

Nothing wrong with people having a gun for hunting or self protection at home but it's getting more than ridiculous what people are packing these days and how ready they are to show it off and shoot. Mass shootings are becoming more common especially when you have less liability in states that...

You may be right. Don't ask me to explain what RBH does sometimes. They market the EMP speakers in Europe as RBH. Yes I'm confused too :)

Much different speakers despite the similar driver topology. RBH versions have a more inert cabinet and superior drivers and crossovers. Night and Day difference in output capabilities and sound quality.

Yes amazing that an unarmed person took down an armed person. Kinda goes against the NRA logic that a gun abiding citizen will come to the rescue in such cases ;)

The 8300's are more pricey as they have bigger drivers. They have more dynamic output and better suited for larger rooms requiring high sustained SPL output.

I've seem them offer that for in-walls products to make them blend better into a dark room. From a performance standpoint they should be identical. It's up to you if you prefer the black or the silver. I could go either way with this since the bass woofers match the tweeter and it just looks...
