Buy or lease... BMW or Ford...

I usually like Corvettes but their latest body style looks very cheap and plasticy to me now. They look like a supped up Camaro. I would take a Porsche Cayman S over any Corvette but of course the Porsche is more money :(

Buy or lease... BMW or Ford...

Porsche is a dream of mine but I realize how impractical it is. I'm only 40 now so if I really want to hit that stereotype, I should wait another 10 years to get one ;) I don't like Cadillac, god the shape of their cars kill me. I would consider a BMW for sure if the wife wasn't so cold on...

Buy or lease... BMW or Ford...

Honestly no bc it heard reliability isn't so great with Audi. Also every Audi I see on the road gas a front LED burned out. That being said I do like their styling. I wouldn't by new bc of price and not sure about the lease deals. I should look at them though. Good suggestion.

Buy or lease... BMW or Ford...

i own a 2007 Acura TL Type S in kinetic Blue. The car is solid and 100% reliable and quite a looker. FWD does get on my nerves at times especially when accelerating on turns or going over bumps. I recently drove a BMW M235i and fell in love but my wife hates the interior and even the exterior...

RBH Sound SX-10/R and S-10 Subwoofers Review

Sadly forum folks dismissed this sub b/c it didn't have a lot of measured output below 30Hz so it was never a big seller. Sometimes we all get a little too caught up in the measurements without actually trying a product real world to see how it really performs.

The more accurate advice to take a one of all these impressing brands.

I'm big proponent for extended listening sessions to decide what is right for each person. I like the science but that only goes so far as people do have varying tastes in sound just like they do with food, wine and women :)

The more accurate advice to take a one of all these impressing brands.

Those specs do not list at what output level they were taken. Also the Salk and Phils have a single woofer as opposed to multiple woofers on the RBH and Revels. Plus the ribbon tweeters generally never have the same output capabilities of the very best domes. I have had many Salk speakers in...

The more accurate advice to take a one of all these impressing brands.

The Revels and especially the RBH's will have a lot more output capability than the Salks and likely the Philharmonics. Consider your room size, listening preferences, etc. The Revels and RBH's are probably the least attractive looking speakers of the bunch. All of the speakers on your list...

RBH Sound SX-10/R and S-10 Subwoofers Review

Salk's earliers subs weren't something I'd recommend but now that he paired up with Rythmik that likely has changed. I can tell you this. I replaced the dual Axiom EP400's at my parents house with the single RBH SX-10/R and their system sounds MUCH better now. Much deeper and cleaner bass, no...

RBH Sound SX-10/R and S-10 Subwoofers Review

A sub with reasonably flat frequency response and extension out past 100Hz with very low group delay often makes for sub that plays back music very well without sounding muddy or "slow" or worse a one-note wonder. Performance aside, the aesthetics and finish quality (esp of the SX-10/R) is what...

$5,000 5.2 Channel Recommended Home Theater System

Yea that one is going bye bye. WE no longer put Displays in our recommended systems since, they change every 6 months and people most likely already have one and are now looking to add audio gear. Screw the Video, we are Audioholics! :)

    $10,000 Two Channel Recommended System

Let me advise you when you get a speaker of that size and weight, it's better to do it modular. It was almost impossible to handle those beasties. I had to slide them down my stairs when I sold them almost like it was a bobsled :) 3 Be tweeters would be too cost prohibitive and probably...

Oh yea it is a killer tower for sure and definitely my recommendation for those that don't want to cough up $50k for the 8Ts. Plus they are easier to move :)

New Sony SS-CS5 Bookshelf Speakers at Best Buy

I tend to agree. I'd rather have 1 high quality tweeter than 2 so so tweeters to simply increase output or power handling. I also don't like complicating the crossover if you don't have to. A simple two-way with really good drivers is hard to beat. That being said, I'd still like to hear...

    $10,000 Two Channel Recommended System

That is a great speaker but it's still not at the level of an 8T. The cabinetry of the 8T really makes a huge difference, not to mention the bigger 3 10" drivers with more cab space. The bass is epic in these speakers and unlike anything I've ever heard before. Also they would never offer the...

New Sony SS-CS5 Bookshelf Speakers at Best Buy

I'm not sure about these speakers, however, the Sony ES upper echelon towers sound quite excellent and utilize premium drivers. They were a big hit at CES last year powered by Pass Lab amps.

The /R upgrade also gets you the Scan Speak 9500 tweeter upgrade which retails for $125/ea and arguably one of the best dome tweeters ever made. This is a big step up in performance alone.
