    Pioneer's new speaker line?

It raises the question will receiver manufacturers have different settings for the Atmos channels depending on if the speaker is firing up at the ceiling or down from the ceiling? I haven't heard this being the case but it's all still very preliminary. It's still unclear if the Atmos...

    Pioneer's new speaker line?

Yep I saw that and I don't buy it. No amount of "processing" is going to stop the leakage. The sound bouncing from the ceiling to the listening area is going to be a jumbled mess no matter how good the directivity of the driver is. In any event I look forward to the non Atmos offering of this...

Pioneer Atmos Speakers (SP-EFS73/SP-EBS73L/SP-EC73 and SW-E10) Preview

Thanks for the reference. Definitely a lot of marketing talk going on over there. I can't ever envision how firing a driver upward towards the ceiling from a shared speaker cabinet for another channel can be "better" than using a discrete in-ceiling speaker firing downward just like what is...

    Pioneer's new speaker line?

Yes they are relying on the sound to shoot up to the ceiling and bounce back down and still be intelligible enough to provide a convincing height effect. Their diagram shows a perfect flashlight beaming up to the ceiling :)

    Pioneer's new speaker line?

They still have 3 more surfaces to work with for the next Atmos spec :) We just wrote up a little preview here: Pioneer Atmos Speakers (SP-EFS73/SP-EBS73L/SP-EC73 and SW-E10) Preview | Audioholics

Pioneer Atmos Speakers (SP-EFS73/SP-EBS73L/SP-EC73 and SW-E10) Preview

There is. Turn off Atmos on the receiver :) I'm waiting for Atmos 2 where they put drivers on the back of the cabinet. Hey there are still 3 more surfaces to exploit, why NOT?!

$6,500 7.x Channel Recommended Home Theater System

Just b/c the have the name "Studio" in their name doesn't mean they were designed to be a nearfield monitor. They work just fine in a home theater or two-channel farfield environment. In fact, you wouldn't want to use an MTM in a nearfield environment in the first place so it's better to be...

The Dolby Atmos Home Theater Paradox

No thanks. I can't wait to see the new Atmos friendly towers some companies will be putting out where they fire drivers at the top of the cabinet. What a joke! But it probably will happen. Update: Oh my, I just saw the Pioneer Atmos speakers

I went into ADMIN to make some tweaks. You can now upload 10 images per post instead of 5. The images are already set to auto resize so file size shouldn't be an issue. I don't see the option to auto-correct orientation though.

If your current system sounds great to you and you listen to it that infrequently, why change anything? Enjoy what you have and avoid the upgraditis...though I don't always practice what I preach :)

Golden Ear Triton One Review on Soundandvision.com

WE heard these speakers at the last CEDIA show. Definitely a lot of top end energy and I am sure a lot of folks would like that. Personally my wife and I thought their bookshelf speaker was the most tonally balanced.

RBH Speakers hit the door step today..

I do have the Omnimic and have worked with them to improve it over the last couple of years. It's just not very consistent at lower frequencies and its limited in what it can do with math functions and splicing and combining measurements. The portability is nice and its certainly useful for...
