I am a total unbeliever in "high-end". I think that with smart shopping, a person can assemble a system for a moderate price that is as good as most ears can appreciate. My HT and stereo were $2300 and $1600 MSRP, respectively (I paid quite a bit less), and both sound awesome to me.:cool:

Often, when visiting BB, I will hear rafter-rattling bass from someone "testing out" (more like maxing out) one of the subs. I would not want to get one that has been treated that way.

To clarify that the disrespect that other countries have for the US is not simply jealousy or pettiness, but justified by the public face that we collectively present.

I have been very happy with my Sony DVD player, and their TVs are great. The last time I tried one of their receivers, however, I found it to be underpowered (in the sense that it was rated at 100 watts/ch but ran out of steam well before the 50 watt/ch Onkyo that I replaced it with.)

I am blown away by the sound quality of my Mirage Omni 150s, and they were only $140 (half-price) at Vanns. A bit bass-shy, but awesome with a sub.

Yeah. Like I said, the limitations of the Polk are a good thing for me. It is about as much as I can get away with.

It is so simple that even you might be capable of understanding it: Voting for someone who cannot win is effectively throwing a vote away. I would rather use it for a democrat who stands a chance of winning, as this improves the odds of not getting stuck with another 4 years of worthless...

I have considered joining the libertarian party. The problem with that is that they never win any major elections.

The only way that I would buy them in a box is if it was all of them (1-7.) Since I don't have the patience to wait for that, I have been buying them one at a time (for $14.99 each.)

I agree with the point you are making here. though not with the "There is a God" part.

I have never thought that uncolored sound per se was important. I just don't like things that add (unintentional) noise and/or distortion.
