Getting old
My goal in '08 is to close the #3 Captains of Crush gripper (280 lb resistance.) I can now just barely close the #2 (195 lb.)

Getting old
When I lived in Oregon, I routinely rode 30-50 miles on routes that included long climbs (some over 1500 ft.) Now a ride is 10 miles, and all of it flat.:( I still work out with weights 2 or 3 times a week, though.

The Von Bondies
I have seen mention of them in magazines, is all. They might be more successful with a better name.

Woman's shoes!
Including my steel toes for work, my houseslippers and my waterproof boots for winter storms, I have maybe 6 pairs. Seems like plenty to me.:)

Sony says adios RPTV
Yeah. So far, no big screen exists with black levels comparable to a direct-view CRT.

Paradigm vs. Definitive Technologies vs. Polk
I can't imagine why.:D When I bought my first pair of Def Techs (the BP8Bs), they were the best speakers I had ever heard. Since then, I have searched for something even better, but without success (unless one counts speakers that cost a lot more.) Now that I have Definitives in both my HT and...

Clothing from China
Neither have I. Sure, the quality may be good, but far too much of the price is based on the name alone.

So why have I so often seen the statement that "using two or more subs yields smoother, more even bass"?

Prediction: Blu ray blows away HD DVD in 2008
It wouldn't surprise me much to see both formats disappear. I expect that standard DVDs look great to the majority of consumers (as they do to me) so that the market for Blu Ray/HD will never grow large enough to be profitable.

Hairspray with Johnny Ravolta
I bought it, but haven't watched it yet. I also have the original version, and it is great. I have always thought that Travolta is underrated, and he does comedy especially well.

Sony manages to out-blow Bose!
In Circuit City the other day, I saw a Sony surround system with (get this) literally golf-ball size speakers and a "sub"! They make the tiny Blose cubes look like real speakers by comparison. The crossover frequency has got to be at least 400Hz.:D

Tiger attacks & kills 1 and injures 2
I could see how some vague, convoluted logic could lead to that conclusion if it was a wild tiger, but a zoo tiger? Surely nobody is that stupid. Global warming is causing a lot of serious problems (which will get worse as time goes on), but tiger attacks are not among them!

Summer vacation plans?
I don't take blocks of vacation time. Instead, I schedule several 3-day weekends throughout the year (and the occasional 4-day weekend.)

Paradigm vs. Definitive Technologies vs. Polk
I would still look for speakers that will let you set the crossover as low as possible. (If the speakers have a -3dB of 50Hz or below, you can cross over at 60Hz, which should sound excellent.)

You are welcome. (Put another way, I have heard several subs that outperformed the BP10Bs basswise, but all cost $500 or more.)
